Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct structured literature reviews and targeted research on climate risk and vulnerability, protected area governance, biodiversity conservation, nature-based solutions and ecosystem-based adaptation.
- Support quantitative and spatial analysis, including field survey where applicable.
- Synthesize findings into outputs aligned with PAD-III reporting standards.
- Support preparation of technical reports, analytical papers, policy briefs, and advisory notes.
- Contribute to decision-support tools and systems.
- Ensure all outputs are evidence-based, clearly structured, and accessible to non-technical audiences.
- Assist in the planning and facilitation of multi-stakeholder consultations and technical workshops.
- Support coordination with government counterparts, NGOs and local communities.
- Participate in field missions, including data collection, validation, and community engagement activities.
- Participate in structured cross-country learning exchanges between Cambodia and Vietnam intern cohorts.
- Contribute to joint knowledge products or comparative analysis drawing on both landscape contexts.
- Engage with ICEM's regional technical network and knowledge management systems.
- Document programme activities, lessons learned, and case studies.
- Support internal knowledge management and reporting.
- Assist in producing clear, concise communication materials for diverse audiences
Key Requirements (skills, knowledge experience & qualification):
- Master's Degree is required
- In environmental science, climate change, natural resource management, geography, or a related discipline for 2 years as a minimum
- Demonstrated connection to ethnic minority, indigenous, or other marginalized communities in the Mekong region strongly encouraged to apply
- Demonstrated analytical and research skills, including capacity to synthesize complex information.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills, with evidence of technical writing.
- Demonstrated interest in climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, or sustainable development in the Mekong region.
- Experience or familiarity with Cambodia, Khmer language proficiency
- Familiarity with GIS, remote sensing, or spatial analysis tools and understanding of climate adaptation frameworks, protected area management, and GEDSI principles is an advantage.
