Medic as an Intermediate Care Provider is personnel who should demonstrate the minimum level of clinical competency (haemorrhage control, airway management and patient management) for the provision of on- scene, immediate trauma medical care. Incumbent primary role is to be as dedicated standby medical personnel. However, he/she must participate in Scorpion detection system training and assist team on site administration and technical task that can be conducted from the medical point.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General

• Administer Care on Site in accordance with Intermediate/Extended Care Protocols on receipt of the casualty at the ICP Treatment Area.
• Always provides immediate medical cover to all team personnel in their area of operation while on duty
• Able to deploy to the ICP Treatment Area within 5 minutes of an accident.
• Shall administer Care in Transit in accordance with Intermediate/Extended Care Protocols following packaging and loading of the casualty into the Evacuation Vehicle
• Shall only diagnose and treat conditions within their scope of practice.
• Ensure that the trauma pack, first aid kit, vehicle kit, oxygen and stretcher are complete, serviceable, clean and adequate for the task as per SOPs. This includes the designated vehicle.
• Ensure that all medical equipment is packed uniformly and organized to allow for easy access and quick removal when required in an emergency.
• All medical equipment contains an itemized register of contents showing expiry dates, and the register is to be updated whenever items are used or replaced.
• All items removed or used are to be replaced within 24 hours. If it cannot replace the items within this time, the senior medic and TL should be informed as soon as possible.
• Where applicable, all medical supplies are in date. Any out-of-date supplies must be reported to the Senior Medic and TL immediately.
• Write medical reports and accident reports as outlined in SOPs.
• Provide treatment for small day-to-day injuries sustained by team members during work.
• Provide relevant training to team members where required, i.e. First Aid Training.
• Prepare CASAVAC and medevac plan, and coordinate with designated medical facility as required.
• Ensure the safety vehicles/ambulance have dedicated drivers during operation for on-site incident/accident response.
• Ensure CASAVAC exercise is conducted always the first day after stand down, and if necessary, once again during working cycle.
• Participate in Scorpion detection system training and assist team on site administration and technical task that can be conducted from the medical point.
• Carry out any other duties, as directed by Senior Medic/TL to meet operational requirements.

Specific

• Medic is expected to lead/coordinate the 5 Sor (organisation, orderliness, cleanliness, standardizing, and discipline) implementation in the field.
• Facilitate the MEDIVAC and CASAVAC training and rehearsal according to the SOP.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Intermediate care provider certified
• Relevant medical education 
• Formal education in Health and Emergency Medical Response
• Experience in the Medical sector focused on trauma care and emergency response.
• Written and verbal proficiency in Khmer. English proficiency is desirable
