The Scorpion Detection System is part of an Operational Field Evaluation (OFE) project to support Cluster Munition Remnants (CMR) survey and clearance activities within Ratanakiri Province Cambodia. Under the supervision of the TL, Operator works closely with other team members, and the incumbent will have the day-to-day responsibility to produce desired outputs of operational activities at the sites ensuring a high level of performance and compliance with quality and safety standards for operation at the sites.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carry out their duties and responsibilities as instructed by the TL.
• Conduct CMR survey and clearance tasks using Scorpion detection System in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and as instructed by the TL.
• Ensure the safety and quality during the operations at the site in accordance with SOPs
• Assemble, set up, calibrate, and operate the Scorpion detection system in accordance with SOPs, and conduct daily test prior deployment
• Assist the team leader in the preparation of explosive ordnance demolition and perform an effective sentry during the demolition task
• Assist the team leader in maintaining the cordon before, during and after EOD/demolition activities.
• Carry out vegetation cutting as required before the deployment of Scorpion.
• Prepare all equipment for daily clearance activities in accordance with the team leader’s daily briefing
• Perform daily duties as assigned by the TL in the task site.
• Report broken, damaged, lost or worn-out equipment to the TL.
• Ensure that all equipment and materials are used correctly and well maintained in accordance with the SOP
• Ensure that no equipment is left behind and that it is stored correctly in the store.
• Adherence to the NPA SOP always.
• Perform any duties, as directed by the team leader/Site Supervisor, to meet operational requirements
• Consider on gender mainstreaming and environmental protection at work.
• Take a driver role as required if the incumbent possess a valid driving license and get authorised by logistics department.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Be able to speak, read, and write Khmer
• Experience working in CMR survey and clearance
• Driving license
• Understanding of standard operating procedures
• Resident from Ratanakiri Province
• Strong commitment to the Organization
• Honest and hard working
• Structured, accurate and efficient
• Ability to cope while under work pressure and flexible to handle changing priorities
• Details oriented
