GIZ is a federally owned enterprise and is supporting the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning the implementation and coordination of activities across the AgriTrade and SUCCESS projects, with a focus on agriculture, trade, consumer protection, competition, and economic development;
- Contributing to the full project lifecycle, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and quality management;
- Preparing key documents such as Terms of Reference (ToRs) and background papers for project activities and expert assignments;
- Facilitating trainings, workshops, and dialogues on quality and sustainability standards in agricultural value chains for public, private, and civil society partners in Cambodia;
- Providing technical advice on agricultural trade standards and safety issues, trade, and economic development to partner institutions;
- Implementing activities to improve agricultural export processes and facilitate trade, including multi-stakeholder dialogues and publications;
- Organising of regional project activities and exchanges with implementation countries like Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam as requested;
- Contributing to communication materials for both internal and external purposes;
- Regularly inform and update project leaders and supervisors at the country level and the regional team about important topics in Cambodia that are relevant to ASEAN Regional Economic Integration;
- Representing GIZ Cambodia and its project portfolio to ministries and private sector organisations;
- Organising activities that support SMEs, including women entrepreneurs, specifically by facilitating their access to matchmaking, information services, and other market opportunities;
- Managing project logistics, such as preparing for meetings, seminars, and events, as well as handling content development and logistical tasks;
- Preparing knowledge management, media and results monitoring, research, and report writing;
- Participating in internal and external meetings and workshops to represent GIZ and its project portfolio;
- Conducting research and advocacy efforts, including analyzing gender-disaggregated data to address gender-related barriers for women entrepreneurs.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's Degree
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields such as Economic Development, Trade, International Relations, Agriculture and Agribusiness;
- Professional experience in agriculture and value chain development and SME development in Cambodia, ASEAN, or other international markets for 5 years as a minimum
- Proven professional experience in a field related to consumer protection, competition policy, agriculture, or providing support to SMEs in a digital economy context;
- Familiarity with gender-related barriers faced by women entrepreneurs and experience with gender-responsive policies or research, including the analysis of gender-disaggregated data;
- Understanding of the dynamics of sustainable agriculture value chains, e-commerce, digital economy and their impact on fair business practices and consumer protection in the ASEAN region and beyond;
- A very good command of Khmer and English (spoken and written).
