CSO4G Project
Civil Society Organisations for Good Governance and Green Growth in Cambodia (CSO4G) is a project funded by the European Commission. The aim of the project is to strengthen the capacity, participation and environment of farmers’ organizations to function as actors of good governance and development in agricultural value chains, leading to the promotion of socio-economic rights of smallholder farmers in Cambodia. The project is implemented within 2024 – 2026, in Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Thom, and Siem Reap

The project will train and support self-help groups, cooperatives as well as the Social Entrepreneurs Union of Agricultural Cooperatives (SEUAC) to deliver better services to their members and increase their capacity in supporting smallholder farmers.

The project combines a rights-based approach, building social capital through holistic community development with a focus on financial literacy, with a market systems development approach to increase farmer’s resilience to socio-economic challenges in Cambodia.

As one of the consortium implementing partners, KUNDAMLAY ORGANIZATION, takes lead in strengthening women leadership in Self-Help Groups (SHGs) through Personal Advancement and Career Enhancement (PACE) approach, and later evolved to Social Life Skills for Effective Local Leadership (S.E.L.L) training program.

KUNDAMLAY ORGANIZATION is currently inviting interested candidates to apply for the following Fix-Termed Consultant/Freelancer to work as Project Assistant to support the project implementation effectively and efficiently.

Scope of Work / Responsibilities
The Project Assistant is responsible for supporting the Project Officer and Director of Programs to implement CSO4G project activities. The project Assistant will work as team to ensure a smooth coordination and high-quality delivery of the project activities within the CSO4G project especially trainings on Social Life Skills for Effective Local Leadership (S.E.L.L) training program to self-help groups (SHGs) and agricultural cooperative (AC) members.

Implement S.E.L.L training program in community
  • Work closely with ACs to identify and select AC leaders to be S.E.L.L trainers.
  • Conduct training needs assessment (TNA) with participants, engaging all relevant stakeholders.
  • Design, develop or update curriculum for training.
  • Conduct Training of Trainers (ToT) on S.E.L.L training for the local trainers.
  • Provide support to the trainers to develop training workplans and budget plans for delivery of S.E.L.L training in the communities.
  • Provide coaching support to the trainers to ensure the training is delivered following the planned milestones.
  • Ensure accountability and compliance with the S.E.L.L training curriculum and guidelines.
Project Management
  • Working with teams in preparing and implementing the project monthly, quarterly and annual plans in line with project outcomes and outputs, and budget.
  • Actively participate in project plan development and management team meetings to update the project progress, challenges and development improvement plan.
  • Support the Project Officer in tracking data against the project log-frame indicators.
  • Support the Project Officer in compiling and reviewing the monthly numerical report and sending it to management with feedback.
  • Prepare the monthly budget plan for trainings.
  • Support to ensure sound budget management including review and monitoring of cash advances and budget expenses of the S.E.L.L trainers.
  • Support the Project Officer to work closely with the Finance Department to ensure budget expenses are on track.

Monitoring and Reporting (data management, analysis, and utilization for learning)
  • Support the project team in organizing annual reflection workshops with
  • S.E.L.L trainers for learning and improvement.
  • Assist the project team in designing the monthly report format and guide
  • S.E.L.L trainers to input data into the report.
  • Conduct regular field visits for monitoring and observation of project activities.
  • Prepare monthly training and progress report data and upload to the relevant system.
  • Organize reflection meetings at the field level by inviting outstanding trained women to share reflections.
  • Assist the team in summarizing/aggregating data at the country level and contribute to organization-wide aggregation.
  • Assist the team in providing timely data availability and reporting to stakeholders/donors.
  • Document success stories and lessons learned for internal programmatic use and external sharing.
  • In collaboration with the Communications team, prepare one story per month to submit to the donor.
  • Support the project team in writing quarterly, biannual, semi-annual, and annual reports.

Timeframe
  • The Project Assistant is expected to start working from 1 April 2026 to 31 December 2026.
Deliverables
  • Referred to the Scope of Work/Responsibilities as above.
Work Schedule
  • 8 hours per day and 5 days per week with high flexibility to work on weekends and public holidays. The compensatory day off will be provided after working during weekend and public holidays.
Remuneration:
  • Monthly payment of US$ 690 including withholding tax and subject to prorate in case not full month work.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in community/rural development, quantitative economics
  • (5) years of direct relevant experience in working with communities.
  • Experience in adult training/facilitation and training curriculum development using participatory methodologies.
  • Fluent in local language and English – both spoken and written.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and swiftly using appropriate mobile technology.
