The Cambodian Rural Development Team (CRDT) is a local NGO established in 2001, undertaking community development and natural resource management projects throughout Cambodia. It has the joint vision of poverty alleviation in support of environmental conservation. The CRDT team has strong technical expertise and experience in community empowerment, environmentally appropriate agricultural development, income generation, water & sanitation, environmental education and waste management, and climate change. CRDT also stimulates sustainable local economic development through its social enterprise, CRDT Tours Co., Ltd., which focuses on ecotourism services and agriculture businesses. Currently, CRDT works in Kampot, Mondulkiri, Kratie, and Stung Treng provinces to improve the livelihoods of local communities while protecting the environment.
The Project Officer is responsible for supporting effective implementation, coordination, and monitoring of youth-focused resilience and entrepreneurship interventions under MA-funded projects. The role ensures that young women and men, including vulnerable and marginalized youth, gain practical skills, improved livelihoods, and increased resilience through entrepreneurship, employability, and community engagement activities, in compliance with MA donor requirements and CRDT policies.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support implementation of MA-approved youth resilience and youth entrepreneurship activities in line with annual and quarterly workplans.
- Facilitate youth entrepreneurship development activities (business skills training, coaching, mentoring, and start-up support).
- Support youth-led initiatives, group enterprises, and community action activities that strengthen resilience and social cohesion.
- Ensure meaningful participation of young women, youth with disabilities, and disadvantaged youth.
- Support delivery of life skills, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and employability trainings for youth groups.
- Provide follow-up coaching and mentoring to youth entrepreneurs and youth groups.
- Support linkages between youth, local markets, service providers, and private sector actors.
- Collect, verify, and manage youth programme data against MA indicators and milestones.
- Track youth participation, business performance, income generation, and resilience outcomes.
- Support learning, reflection sessions, and documentation of youth success stories and lessons learned.
- Prepare quality inputs for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Compile youth case studies, photos, attendance lists, and monitoring tools aligned with MA formats.
- Support preparation and facilitation of donor monitoring visits and learning events.
- Coordinate with youth groups, local authorities, training providers, and partners to ensure effective implementation of the project.
- Support collaboration with schools, TVET centers, CSOs, and private sector actors relevant to youth entrepreneurship.
- Support activity-level budget tracking and cost-effective implementation.
- Prepare advances, settles, and procurement requests in line with CRDT and MA procedures.
- Ensure safeguarding, GEDSI, and youth protection standards are applied across all activities.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in or diploma in Business, Agriculture, Development, or related fields.
- Experience working in community mobilization, youth facilitation, TVET or related social work is an asset.
- Strong community facilitation and coaching skills.
- Ability to work independently in remote areas.
- Respectful engagement with indigenous and vulnerable communities.
