The Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM) is implementing a capacity-building initiative aimed at strengthening the knowledge, skills, and facilitation competencies of selected trainers who will cascade training to wider target groups. To ensure effective and sustainable knowledge transfer, CCIM is seeking to engage a qualified consultant/firm to design and deliver a Training of Trainers (ToT) for Podcasting.
The purpose of this consultancy is to design and deliver a Training of Trainers program that equips participants with both technical podcasting skills and training/facilitation competencies, enabling them to independently train others in podcast development, production, and distribution.
The consultant will undertake the following tasks:
- Conduct training needs assessment (if required)
- Design a comprehensive ToT curriculum on podcasting
- Develop training materials and facilitation guides
- Deliver the ToT using participatory and hands-on methodologies (Interactive presentations, Hands-on recording and editing practice, Group work and case studies, Role plays and mock training sessions, Peer learning and feedback, Individual and group assignments)
- Facilitate practical sessions on podcast production
- Mentor participants in delivering mock training sessions
- Assess participants’ technical and facilitation competencies
- Provide recommendations for post-training, support and scale-up
The consultant is expected to deliver:
- Inception report and detailed work plan
- ToT curriculum and session plans
- Participant manuals and trainer/facilitator guides
- Audio production guides and equipment list
- PowerPoint presentations and practical exercises
- Pre- and post-training assessment tools
- Final training report including outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations
Training Content (Indicative Modules)
- Introduction to Podcasting and Audio Storytelling
- Podcast Formats and Audience Engagement
- Content Planning, Research, and Scripting
- Interview Techniques and Ethics
- Audio Recording Techniques and Equipment
- Audio Editing and Sound Design (e.g., Audacity, Adobe Audition, or similar tools)
- Podcast Branding, Hosting, and Distribution
- Marketing and Monetization Basics
- Copyright, Music Licensing, and Media Ethics
- Adult Learning Principles and Training Methodologies
- Facilitation Skills and Training Evaluation
- Degree in media, communications, journalism, education, or related field
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in podcasting and audio production
- Proven experience conducting Training of Trainers programs
- Strong knowledge of adult learning methodologies
- Demonstrated experience in content development and facilitation
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills
The ToT is expected to be completed within five working days including preparation.
The consultant will report to Ms. Chan Muyhong, Media Development Director.
