Samaritan’s Purse International Relief (SPIR) is a nonprofit, nondenominational, evangelical Christian Organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world.
Five (5) months contract
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Coordinator in implementing the program with excellence. This includes coming to work prepared and on time, completing assigned tasks and alerting the Project Coordinator of any issues
- Assist the Project Coordinator in conducting meetings with local authorities and community members to present the project’s purpose and plan, and to promote active participation.
- Assist the Project Coordinator in selecting family beneficiariesbased on the agreed criteria.
- Work collaboratively as a team to develop training lesson plans and prior arrangement of logistics.
- Deliver the quality training on livelihood topics to the group of beneficiaries at the target village.
- Day to day travel to the target village to follow up target families to support them improving their livelihood through enhanced family financial management.
- Assist the Project Coordinator in coordinating the Safe Migration and Trafficking Awareness (SMTA) events/campaigns and awareness messaging.
- Work closely with local church leaders and assist them in maintaining good relationships with the community and local authorities in order to present a good testimony.
- Provide daily reports to Project Coordinator to keep track of the project’s progress.
- Write stories and submit quality photos about project impact regularly.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with local authorities, community members, and churches, demonstrating respect and following correct cultural protocols.
- Other duties associated with implementing the project, and assigned by the line supervisor.
Key Requirements:
- Commitment to Samaritan’s Purse vision, mission, core values and policies
- A creative and flexible person who can work well under pressure, with a high commitment to meet accomplishments in a timely manner and problem solve
- Strong facilitation and participatory training skills
- Ability to carry out innovative training and participatory community engagement
- Background experience in safe migration and trafficking prevention is an advantage
- Experience withlivelihood intervention, and/or financial management skill, is an advantage
- Completed high school education with higher education preferred
- Experienced in MS Word, MS Excel and Google Earth mapping is preferred
- Must be able to confidently ride a motorbike (this is a mandatory requirement of the job)
- Ability to read and write Khmer; English is optional.
