Samaritan’s Purse International Relief (SPIR) is a nonprofit, nondenominational, evangelical Christian Organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support health outreach activities to ensure essential health services are effectively delivered to remote communities.
- Share the Gospel with beneficiaries and reflect Christ’s love through compassionate engagement and service.
- Notify local authorities and community leaders in advance of health outreach plans to ensure coordination and participation.
- Collaborate with Health Centers to ensure medical supplies, equipment, and essential medicines are organized and prepared prior to outreach events.
- Support Health Center staff in planning and conducting screenings for priority non-communicable and communicable diseases (NCDs and CDs), ensuring smooth implementation and follow-up.
- Work closely with Health Center staff and the First Health team during growth monitoring and related child health initiatives.
- Coordinate and facilitate health education sessions on NCDs, CDs, and other relevant health topics during outreach activities, ensuring messages are engaging and culturally appropriate.
- Support and train Village Volunteers and Church Volunteers on key health topics to strengthen community capacity and promote preventive health practices.
- Collaborate with Field Officers to plan and conduct school health promotion activities, including health messages and events.
- Serve as a liaison with Health Center Chiefs and staff, maintaining open communication to understand their capacity-building needs, and coordinate relevant trainings with the Operational District (OD) and Provincial Health Department (PHD) on priority health topics.
- Coordinate with the OD to ensure project activities align with Ministry of Health priorities and guidelines.
- Work closely with OD and PHD by attending meetings, submitting reports, and delivering project presentations as needed.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with local authorities, health staff, and church partners to promote collaboration, mutual learning, and sustainability.
- Participate actively in team meetings, planning sessions, and other coordination events as assigned.
- Manage accurate and timely data collection, reporting, and documentation for all health outreach and training activities.
- Ensure all health service records, attendance lists, and activity reports are properly maintained and submitted on time.
- Report key observations and community trends, including misconceptions or health myths identified during field activities.
- Contribute to project monitoring by identifying challenges, lessons learned, and success stories from the field.
- Ensure all medical and health education materials are properly stored, maintained, and replenished as needed.
- Support the team in managing the distribution of supplies and ensuring proper accountability and usage.
- Maintain cleanliness, order, and readiness of health outreach equipment, transport kits, and other project materials.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Experience working as a registered nurse, preferably in a health center or hospital setting for 2 years as a minimum
- Commitment to Samaritan’s Purse’s vision, mission, and values.
- Cambodian national with a Nursing Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field.
- Familiarity with government health systems, community health programs, or public health initiatives is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage respectfully with health staff, community members, and local leaders.
- Fluency in Khmer and proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate documentation, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates integrity, humility, and a willingness to learn and serve.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable using digital data collection tools.
- Compassionate, service-oriented mindset with a passion for community health outreach.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage logistics in dynamic field environments.
- Culturally sensitive, adaptable, and resilient under challenging conditions.
