Discover Your Possibilities (DYP) is a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 2021 and registered with the Ministry of Interior with Prakas #114 PrK dated 14th January 2021. The purpose of the organization is to improve the living conditions of blind and visually impaired children and adults by providing educational support, skill training and different vocational training opportunities.
We are seeking a highly qualified Cambodian with excellent English skills, as well as Computer, Administration, and Management skills, to play a crucial role in our mission. The Assistant to Executive Director is responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support to ED. Together with the ED, the Assistant to Executive Director manages the Research Program, the Direct Assistance Program, as well as other tasks. Being the Right Hand of the ED means being the ED’s eyes and support in many ways. You like to serve and be of assistance, but you are also able to manage operations when deemed necessary with the approval of the ED.
- Secretary of Executive Director:
- Assist ED in his daily duties and as directed by him
- Assists with managing all projects as assigned by ED
- Note the daily tasks in a planner. Keeps ED informed, helps follow up, and double-checks daily and weekly tasks in accordance with schedules.
- The AED is responsible for reading correctly and in full all documents to the ED
- The AED is giving proof that all documents are accurate before the ED will sign them. AED will co-sign (mark) accordingly to verify the process with the consent of the ED.
- Assists with scheduling meetings and follow-up tasks
- Assists the ED by going places.
- Takes notes for the ED.
- Is responsible for and upholds effective communication between staff and management
- Drafts the correspondence with the government and all stakeholder agencies on behalf of ED
- Prepares the submitted monthly reports in a professional form
- Completes any tasks assigned by ED in an efficient and timely manner.
- Project Support:
- Supports field facilitator
- Is in charge of the research Database system
- Assists with the Research Project
- Assists with The Direct Assistance Program
- Assists ED with the Siem Reap Special Education Highschool collaboration
- Administrative Work:
- Assist in developing and updating JDs, staff policies, rules, regulations, and procedures as directed by ED
- Prepares correspondence, documentation, and presentation materials
- Provides logistic support
- Translates relevant documents
- Undergraduate degree or associated qualifications – bachelor’s degree in management is a plus
- Management skills
- Good Computer skills
- Excellence in English skills
- Driver's license is a must
- At least 2 years of Work experience are required
- Highly organized and able to multitask.
- Relevant experience in administration
- Experience in managing projects
- Strong problem-solving (including risk assessment) and analytical skills and focus on quality of work
- Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, including an ability to interact effectively and appropriately with a wide range of project stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to attend advanced training in the field
- Commitment to people with visual impairments
- High level of integrity, honesty, reliability, and responsibility
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- High capacity for empathy and commitment to the visually impaired and blind
