Feed the Future Cambodia Harvest III (“Harvest III”) is a five-year USAID-funded activity to promote sustainable, broad-based economic growth through increased diversification, inclusion, resilience, and competitiveness in Cambodia’s agriculture sector. Through private sector engagement in key agriculture market systems, the activity creates better jobs and improves livelihoods, diets, and overall well-being for Cambodians, especially women, youth, and marginalized populations. Harvest III hereby issues an RFA to invite technical applications from private entities and organizations seeking to participate in our program.
I. Objectives of this RFA
The primary objective of this RFA is to increase the adoption of climate-smart agriculture (CSA) practices at firms and farms to mitigate climate change impacts and increase climate change resilience through adaptation, while also producing additional secondary benefits, such as:
- Maintaining or increasing agricultural productivity through mitigating climate change impacts and increasing climate change adaptation;
- Increasing farm efficiency by adopting agricultural technologies (such as climate-resilient farming techniques); and
- Improving value-added food processing, reducing production and processing costs, creating safe and sustainable products to meet markets’ demands.
Grant award amounts are anticipated to range from $50,000–$150,000, depending on the scale of activities and the expected results. The grant activities will be implemented and completed during a period of 12 months, with a potential for an extension (with or without additional fund) to 18-24 months based on the applications’ business need.
II. Eligible Parties
This program targets agricultural cooperatives, associations, federations, service and technology providers, food processors, and other market actors who can initiate innovative solutions including but are not limited to the above objectives and scope to apply for this grant.
All entities must be registered in Cambodia and may be either Cambodian or foreign owned. They must adhere to Cambodian policies on deforestation or reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
