Trailblazer Angkor Organization is seeking an agriculture Supervisor to manage and further develop its nursery station and field implementation. The position will begin immediately and will be 1-year, renewable contract. The position is based in Siem Reap, but you will be required to travel to various target villages on a daily basis.
Roles and responsibilities:
The Agriculture Supervisor will be responsible for carrying out all activities regarding Agricultural Training Programs, test garden including community assessment and surveying to support project implementation, monitoring, follow-up on the success of the project, training, and project reporting.
- Report to the TRAILBLAZER ANGKOR Director and work closely with the Finance/Grants Manager.
- Good Agriculture Practice (GAP)
- Organize and coordinate the Farmer Community Group projects with relevant local authorities and project partners.
- Assist in helping villagers to learn how to implement home garden and livestock raising including demonstration of the pilot projects and training.
- Assist in preparing annual and monthly plan as well as weekly basis activities and directly report to the Director.
- Identify and implement improvements that help the project achieve its objectives and goals.
- Communicate effectively with farmers, relevant project partners and government officials.
- Organizing and managing both strategic plan and operational activities plan for on-site test garden and community farmer. Maintain as strong emphasis on organic farming, organic pest control and organic composting.
- Developing new Agriculture programs & tools
- Assist the farmer group to collect data and report from respondent (butcher, trader, middleman trader)
- Consulting and connecting farmer’s products market for the farmer and the buyer
- Preparing, organizing and conducting workshop, training sessions with rural farmers and permaculture as the program develops.
- Bachelor's degree in agricultural field
- Excellent communication and horticulture skills
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and demonstrated accountability
- MS Word, Excel, internet…etc.
- Has excellent spoken and written Khmer and English abilities
- Ability to travel frequently and work in rural area
