The Lycée Français René Descartes (LFRD) is accredited by the French Ministry of Education. It has an agreement with the AEFE (The Agency for French Education Abroad). As of 2024, the AEFE network comprises of 580 schools across 139 countries. These schools are accredited by the French Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. We are looking for an experienced candidate who will likely teach a combination of English Language, American literature and Civilization courses.
- University diploma from an American / Canadian university (Compulsory) B.A. minimum level required; Masters Degree highly desired
- Be an American / Canadian citizen with English as a first language (required)
- Teacher certification preferred, obtained in North America
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ teaching experience in a North American system of education at the secondary level (middle school and high school) preferred
- Ability to teach in more than one subject area desired (i.e. English Language Arts and Literature, History-Geography, Model United Nations, etc.)
- Desire to work within an international educational community and an awareness of the needs of an international, multilingual and multicultural student body
- Sound knowledge of French preferred, together with an interest in French culture
- Be a team player
- Excellent communication skills
- Be passionate about learning and teaching
