We are now looking for qualified candidates to fulfill the positions of High School Nurse.
The High School Nurse will treat students, staff and guests for medical issues, help prevent physical issues and disease and coordinate routine health assessments.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for professional medical treatment of students, students, and campus visitors.
- Responsible for early detection of physical problems and health evaluations.
- Responsible for disease prevention.
- Assists in promoting programs on health-education and immunization.
- Maintains clinical records.
- Coordinates vision, hearing, and orthopedic screening and health assessments.
- Provides emergency aid to students, staff, and campus visitors.
- Assists teachers in instructing students in health and nutrition education.
- Will coordinate campus visitors who are assisting with health assessments not limited to medical, eye and hearing as needed.
- Maintain and track inventory of medicine, cleaning products for cleaning staff to maintain appropriate stock on hand not limited to hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper and any special health requirements for campus to remain open.
- Will accompany minors to medical care until their guardians are available to arrive ensure safety of our students.
- Notify immediate supervisor in advance to taking time off ensuring safety of campus remains during normal business hours. May be on standby for large campus activities or events.
- Responsible for Campus Lost and Found of any found items on campus. Should keep log of found and returned items.
- Registered nurse (RN) certification required.
- Current nursing license required.
- A driving license required for student transport is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of community agencies to help students and their families.
- Knowledge of Ministry of Education Youth and Sport (MOEYS) and Ministry of Health (MOH) policies and procedures.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing, reaching, and bending.
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
