Bayon Education & Development NGO, usually called “Bayon School” in English or “Ecole du Bayon” in French”, is a local NGO that has been registered with the Ministry of Interior (MOI) of Cambodia on March 25, 2015, which is under fully financial supporting from Ecole du Bayon NGO in France.
Bayon Education & Development NGO is a qualified education development organization with programs focused on two main areas:
- A Khmer General Education for the Poorest Children.
- A Technical Vocational Education & Training for young people from the disadvantaged family of Cambodia.
Bayon Education & Development NGO operates its several programs in Cambodia which head office is located at Taphul road, Sangkat Svay Dangkun, Krong Siem Reap, Siem Reap province, Kingdom of Cambodia. Presently, Bayon School is working on four important programs as follow:
- Primary School: Offering free education from kindergarten to grade 6 for underprivileged families in the Angkor Thom temple vicinity, along with complementary projects in green farming and healthcare.
- Follow-up Program: Assisting students in transitioning from grade 6 to university through essential support like school materials, bicycles, financial assistance, workshops, and coaching.
- Pastry School: Providing vocational pastry and bakery training to underprivileged women, with a comprehensive 12-month curriculum.
- Green farming program: Its objective is to involve families of students at the primary school to grow organic vegetables on their land and family income generation.
- Agroecology School: Launched in 2021, this program offers specialized vocational training in agroecological practices for underprivileged individuals, focusing on sustainable agriculture and community development.

Main Job Duties
His/her overall duties are main responsible for executing the cycle or routine tasks of Teaching and learning programs and keep safety to students during the class in the primary school to give “A Khmer General Education of the Poorest Children from the Disadvantage Families Who are Living in the Angkor Thom Temple” following the guidelines or strategy of the NGO such as cleaning school environment, student receive quality of teaching full day, and make sure that his/her teaching has enough teaching materials and proper methodology.
He/she is under the supervisory of School Director and reporting operational to the hierarchy position such as School Director and Programs Director of NGO.
Terms and Conditions:
- Part-time Unspecified Duration Contract (UDC), with 3 months of trial period.
- Seniority Indemnity Payment
- NSSF & Private Insurance (Health care & Accident)
- Working hour 4hours/day (20 hours per week)
- Staff leave (compline with Cambodia Labour Law)
- Prepare daily or weekly lesson plans with clear objectives and make sure that all necessary materials for teaching are available in use to make a very active and productive learning in class.
- Design homework or quiz for students
- Design and create visual teaching materials such as posters, flashcards and other visual aids to support teaching.
- Provide classroom decorations to make it more interesting.
- Make fun, games and interesting activities in the class
- Apply all methodologies that encourage a student-centered approach.
- Create classroom agreements and maintain classroom agreements with students.
- Give advice or talk to individual student who has misbehaved at school and in the class.
- Work as an individual student’s tutor to teach the students with learning difficulty
- Check and complete class attendance carefully according to Bayon Education and Development.
- Maintain teaching resources in stock by ordering ahead of time
- Maintain accurate records as required by Bayon Education and Development.
- Make sure that all the class doors/ windows are closed and help switch off the fans and lights properly after class.
- Leadership
- Work as a good member of teacher team to plan the lessons that meet students’ need and interest.
- Be a role model in promoting an English-speaking environment as well as encouraging students to speak English as much as possible.
- Develop a strong and effective school culture based on the values of Bayon Education and Development.
- Maintain a professional standard of dress and role of teachers
- Be punctual for class and meeting
- Coordination, and relationship
- Attend meeting, training and seminar as required by Bayon Education and Development.
- Report concerns in relation to students’ misbehaviors, hygiene, well-being to relevant line manager
- Work closely and cooperatively with volunteers
- Facilitate and involve in School internal events as required by Bayon Education and Development.
- Observe and evaluate students’ progress and report to Education Team Leader and Education Manager.
- Diary management and arranging appointments, meeting room.
- Data entry (Students result and information figures, property listings etc.)
- General office management such as ordering stationary
- Taking minutes of meeting.
- Arranging both internal and external events/party.
- Coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to BED
- Manage phone calls and correspondence
- Track stocks of office supplies and place orders when necessary
- Submit timely reports and prepare presentations/proposals as assigned
- Manage student and teacher attendant
- As a main contact when the director takes leave or has mission a way from school.
- Assist colleagues whenever necessary.
- Support canteen cash settlement and coordinate.
- Ensure children at all times are protected from physical, emotional and sexual abuse, and report any mistreatment or abuse of children.
- Ensure that the Bayon Education and Development code of conduct is followed by staff at all times.
- Follow other duties as reasonably required by management.
- Respect child rights, privacy and confidentiality at all times, by involving children in case planning, ensuring that their privacy is protected, and not disclosing sensitive or private information to other children, or other agencies, without permission by the child, with consideration of the child’s development, and other safety issues
- Bachelor degree in English Literacy with a minimum of 2 years teaching experience in Primary School.
- Pedagogy Certificate or other training certificate which equivalent.
- Love and value teaching career
- Desire to teach kids from the poor family backgrounds
- Ability to design lessons which fit both residential and community students
- Excellent interpersonal skill to communicate with other relevant staff within Bayon Education and Development.
- Possess professional attitude and diligence and able to work independently as well as work in a team.
