Garden of Hope in Cambodia (GOHC) provides a temporary home, an aftercare holistic program to girls from age 6 to 18 (PHG project) and to women aged 18 to 39 years old (PHW project) who have recused from trafficking, rape or domestic violence and. GOHC is a temporary home for these God-loved girls and women to stay to have a safe environment for restoration, counseling, job placement, learning coping skills, independent living skills, and some Khmer/English literacy.
PHG project of GOHC is now seeking one full-time counselor.
We provide good renumeration and pay raise, accidence and health insurance packages, NSSF, yearly bonuses and other benefits.
- Identify and respond to crisis situations such as domestic violence, separation and financial issues
- Provide service information/home rule and regulation and treatment options
- Conduct service plan agreement and contract
- Create a working plan where every client has a fair chance to see the counselor
- Keep a record, case notes and keep track of the client process
- Create counseling files for each client and update cases on OSCAR system
- Conduct physical, emotional, social, spiritual, behavioral, cognitive, mental and suicidal risk assessment with referral clients and develop safety plan (if high risks)
- Assessing needs, situations, strengths, and support networks to determine their goal and exploring clients’ problems, information, and resources for social worker and treatment plan
- Knowledge and ability to explain and share existing service networks to/with clients
- Develop an optimal case management plan/treatment plan and life goals to address the whole person and informing share tasks with social worker
- Ability to negotiate and communicate with other stakeholders regarding the clients’ plans
- Provides therapy and coaching to help clients and families manage/deal with their stress, difficulty emotions, mental health disorders, trauma redirect disturbing emotions, develop coping strategies, and adapt to their environments and perform psychotherapy by providing appropriate counseling techniques and tools
- Psychoeducation to clients
- Communicating with family members, advocating for clients’ needs
- Accompany clients to the hospital
- Check everyday activities of the client and determine the amount for weekly expenses
- Accompany court case if necessary
- Do case review to track client’s progress with the report
- Get the client ready for reintegration and get their family ready for receiving the clients.
- Help clients adjust to changes and challenges in their lives, such as illness, divorce, or unemployment
- Conduct follow up visits with patients once they have been discharged
- Phone follow up with clients, families, other support systems and authorities
- Case summary once transfer or close the case
- Females with a bachelor of art in social work, psychology, or sociology.
- At least one year of experience providing counselling service to youth and women.
- Experience in working with teams and also working independently.
- Compassion and high level of integrity, patience, commitment, trustworthiness.
- Good organizational, communication and time management skills.
- Understanding of and sensitivity to girls’ experiences of abuse and gender issues.
- Proficiency of both Khmer and English.
