Position: Consultant Coordinator (IRD Cambodge)__Deadline:10-September

Institute of Research for Development (IRD) is a leading scientific authority on major development issues and an internationally recognized multidisciplinary organization. It is a French public institution under the dual authority of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. For more than 75 years, it has been promoting an original approach to research, expertise, training and knowledge-sharing for the benefit of territories and countries that make science and innovation one of the key drivers of their development. Almost 40% of the Institute's staff are posted abroad and overseas.

In Cambodia, in the frame of Capfi sh -Aquaculture an EU project, the EISACAM project brings together eleven French, European and international scientific and technical partners, in addition to local partners, in a consortium led by the IRD. In response to the terms of reference of the project's call for tenders, the objectives are to promote research in the field of sustainable aquaculture in Cambodia, particularly in various technical and study areas: domestication, quantitative genetics, feeding, good aquaculture practices, human nutrition and other scientific areas and activities related to sustainable aquaculture and its role in the country. The diversity of the topics covered the number of experts involved and the size of the project (require a very high level of managerial involvement and coordination, particularly for day-to-day relations with local players.

GEOGRAPHICAL ASSIGNMENT

• 1 position at the National Aquaculture Research and Development Institute (NARDI) in Prek Long Village, Rokakhpous commune, Takhmou district, Kandal Provincel
• 1 position at the Freshwater Aquaculture Research and Development Center (FARDeC) Bati Village, Peamrok commune, Peamrok district, Prey Veng Province

Mission
Under the responsibility of the Head of the IT1 team and of the Directors of the Institute and of the Centre, the staff member will carry out the following activities

Activities

• Coordinate the planned activities by IT1 project in the NARDI/FARDeC , workshops, and seminars related to the project in the centers.
• Collaborate with researchers and technical staff of centres and institute to promote and implementing new activities.
• Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for experiments .
• Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations.
• Facilitate communication between IRD teams of experts and staff.
• Good knowledge of comprehensive understanding of the administrative aquaculture system in Cambodia.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Aquaculture, Marine Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). At least 5-10 years of experiences are required
• Experience in project coordination or management, in the field of aquaculture
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.

The consultant will provide services until 30 June 2025 working 15 days per month for a maximum of USD13,300 for all the service. Payment will be done following daily  time sheet . Monthly report  of activities is required
