All around the world, people are waking up to the deepening crisis of nature loss. A growing realization that nature is our life-support system. And that nobody will be spared from the impacts of its loss. Here at WWF, we are helping to tackle this enormous global challenge.
What we do
WWF is working on the ground across the Asia-Pacific region to conserve biodiversity and build a secure and sustainable future for people and wildlife.
WWF’s mission in Cambodia is to ensure that there will be strong participation and support from all people to conserve the country’s rich biological diversity. The WWF-Cambodia conservation programme that started more than 20 years ago is implemented in 2 landscapes – Eastern Plains Landscape (EPL) and Mekong Flooded Forest (MFF) Landscape and built over the following 4 pillars of interventions: (1) Securing Landscape Integrity and Sustaining Conservation and Livelihood Development, (2) Freshwater and Sustainable Hydropower, (3) Protected Area Management and Conservation Research and (4) Sustainable Financing – Green Economy.
Join the world’s largest and most respected independent conservation organization as Solar and Energy Efficiency Project Officer based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and together we can conserve our country’s rich biological diversity, through sustainable use of natural resources, and promote new opportunities for the benefit of all people, enhancing local livelihoods and contributing to poverty reduction in the Kingdom of Cambodia
The technical officer position is an opportunity for an energy engineer to catalyse a more sustainable energy sector in Cambodia and beyond. The engineer will play a key role in the implementation of two projects – “Cool and Solar Global Initiative” and the “Building Back a Climate-Friendly and Inclusive Tourism Sector in Cambodia”.
The solar and energy efficiency officer will provide technical expertise to different kinds of actors on how to reduce their energy use and to use solar electricity, thereby saving money and carbon emissions. The officer will work in collaboration with different WWF offices, solar energy companies, building owners and project consultants. The officer will also support the Global Expert, Energy Efficiency and the Program Manager, on writing reporting and monitoring documents, as well as producing communications products of the project.
