TAE LS is represented in Cambodia by the local foreign NGO called Toutes a l’Ecole Luxembourg Succursale a.s.b.l (TAE LS) operating as a branch of TAE L, to ensure the development and operation of a higher education support program. Chandara Students Home in Phnom Penh, for post-Bac students. It provides material, academic and moral support, including free and secure accommodation in two dorms, as a way to ensure a successful professional integration for the students.
TAE LS operates the program called “Chandara Studens Home” in Phnom Penh, supporting over 320 students from Happy Chandara with their two student homes and offices in Sen Sok and Boueng Tompun, during their university studies, TAE LS employs about 20 staff, local and international, to run all operations, in close contact with senior management in Luxembourg.

Position overview / main missions
Paired with the Psychologist and Health Mediator, the Social Worker ensures that the students’ study in the best possible conditions by reducing the negative impact of their social background on their studies (on-demand requests):
- Referent to social questions/topics with the management team and students
- Case management: intervention, follow-up, and assessment of the situation of students, involving contact with families
- Contact with local authorities, Sangkat, and social entities for referral of students’ cases
- On-demand home interventions, family assessment and follow-up
- Identify problems and propose solutions to students and sometimes their families / support them in resolution or application
- Prepare a weekly plan of field visits and case management with the dorm manager, the psychologist, and the pedagogy manager
- Update information in the internal database
- Monthly Reports and meeting reports according to requests
- Bi-weekly meeting remotely with P6 students at Siem Reap.
- Prepare a mission to visit Siem Reap students 1 time every 3 months.
- Work hand-in-hand with the other colleagues involved in the Academic and Employment journey of the students
- Collaborate with Happy Chandara’s Social Team to ensure a smooth transition for girls transitioning from grade 12 to higher education
- Build good relations with local authorities for the sake of social case handling
- Work with parents to maximize their understanding of the university system functioning as well as the organization system functioning
- Establish relationships with other stakeholders that work in a similar field to refer cases if needed (NGO for example)
- Refer the case to the other departments/ Case refer from another colleague when it’s necessary (job search, re-orientation, medical intervention)
- Case management: Take care of urgent cases and serious cases (absences, dropping out, socio- medical emergencies)
- Other tasks or projects assigned by the manager in line.
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, or Psychology
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in education, vulnerable communities, or related field experience
- Previous experience working in women empowerment or education projects is a plus
- Understanding of young adults’ development, protection, and education
- Good command of Khmer and English. French is a plus.
