Position Summary
The Technical Team Lead will oversee the technical aspects of the USAID BEST Activity, focusing on developing and implementing innovative educational solutions to improve Khmer literacy and “Read-to-Learn” abilities among grade 4 students. This role will support capacity building for MoEYS counterparts and ensure the integration of inclusive development principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical direction and oversight for all project activities.
Lead the design, testing, and refinement of Khmer literacy packages and extracurricular activities for grade 4 students.
Develop and implement teacher training and mentoring programs to improve literacy teaching competencies.
Ensure alignment of project materials with MoEYS curricula and educational standards.
Collaborate with MoEYS, USAID, and other stakeholders to ensure project sustainability and scalability.
Conduct robust evaluations of project interventions and document lessons learned.
Promote gender equity and inclusive education principles in all project activities.
Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
At least 10 years of experience in education, including curriculum development and teacher training.
Strong technical expertise in literacy education and project-based learning.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with government ministries and education partners.
Excellent communication skills in Khmer and a good command of English.
Experience with USAID-funded projects or similar international donor programs.
Experience with inclusive education practices and gender-responsive approaches.
Familiarity with the Cambodian education system and USAID’s CLA Framework.
