Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI) is seeking to recruit one Senior Economist to support CDRI-wide research programmes, from identifying new strategic opportunities to producing high-quality publications and engaging in public events and seminars. The Senior Economist is mainly responsible for Identifying and mobilising new research opportunities and partnerships that align with and support CDRI's New Strategy. S/he will work closely with our research centres to lead some research in Cambodia's macro-economic, labour economics, climate change, and green transition economics. The position is for twelve months, which is renewable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and mobilise new research opportunities and partnerships that align with and support CDRI's New Strategy.
- Lead some research in macro-economic, labour economics, economics of climate change and green transition in Cambodia.
- Develop research-based policy publications on the above topics using advanced tools and new economic models.
- Present findings and policy advice to national and international policymakers.
- Engage in public events and media commentary
Main Qualifications
- Excellent research, written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, coordinate research programmes, and impact with a diverse team.
- Experience working in the academic sector, international development institutions and/or government.
- Strong knowledge of the development challenges and research network in the region.
- A PhD in macroeconomics, environment/energy economics or other related fields.
