Initially established in 1996 as a project of the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, KHANA started operating as an NGO in 1997 and was officially registered as a local NGO in 2000. Since then, it has been operating as a linking organization (LO) of the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, which is now known as Frontline AIDS. KHANA is one of the leading non-governmental organizations in Cambodia that has made critical contributions to the national HIV response and other health and development related services to key, vulnerable, and underserved populations in Cambodia. KHANA’s work has been made possible through financial support from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (GFATM), the USAID through TB-LON, the L’Initiatives, the Stop TB Partnership, and Frontline AIDS.
KHANA is now in contract negotiation with the Gavi to implement its CSO engagement in Cambodia grant, aiming to reduce the zero dose in three provinces (Banteay Mean Chey, Koh Kong, and Pursat), covering 6 operational health districts. The project is being jointly implemented with PSI to accomplish the three objectives below:
- Objective 1: Improve the availability and use of behavioural and social data for routine immunisation in underserved communities, especially zero-dose children and missed communities.
- Objective 2: Co-design and implement data- and insight-driven interventions to improve public confidence and demand for vaccination among underserved communities.
- Objective 3: Advocate for sustained efforts based on data and the needs of underserved populations.
The postholder is responsible for organizing and coordinating the research-related activities under the Gavi-funded Zero Dose Project in the respective provinces and operational health districts. The main roles and responsibilities include support in research project development, data collection, data management, analysis, and report writing.
Roles and Responsibilities:- Supporting research protocols and data collection tools development.
- Coordinating data collection, entry, and analysis using qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Interpreting research findings and developing program and policy recommendations as needed.
- Preparing logistics and administration with all relevant works.
- At least a bachelor’s degree in public health, community health development, or health-related fields.
- At least 3 years’ experiences in public health research or assessment, with experience in HIV, TB, SRH, COVID-19 programs preferred.
- At least 3 years’ experience working with NGOs.
- Understand research-related methods such as LQAS, and others.
