I. Background:
Founded in 2015 in the aftermath of Cambodia’s 2013 national elections and fallout, and officially launched in 2017, Future Forum (“FF”) is a think tank with a difference. We nurture new thinkers and researchers, connect them in a supportive community, and partner with them and others to identify and advance policy solutions to mould a better future for Cambodia. We have now been fully operational for over five years, though our work was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe our work is more relevant than ever and that, despite the very real challenges of operating in a difficult and changing context, we are well positioned to make the most of the opportunities presented by the inter-generational transition and handover of political, cultural and economic power that is underway in Cambodia.
II. Position Summary:
The Research Advisor supports Young Research Fellows by providing guidance, feedback/comments and editing support to the research outputs such as commentary, policy snapshots, and policy briefs.

1. Experience: Publications (research paper, policy briefs, commentaries, reports…) and coaching and mentoring
2. Education: Master’s minimum, PhD prefer

Remuneration is paid based on output basis as agreed with the President.

The overall job description below outlines the main areas of responsibilities of the Employee by providing support to young research fellow. The responsibilities include
- sharing knowledge and skills, overseeing the fellow’s work, providing guidance, feedback/comments and editing support to the fellow's ongoing research outputs, and having regular meetings with them
- establishing the fellows as an independent researcher
- supporting the fellows to ensure quality of outputs
- attending fellows’ presentations when necessary
IV. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Experience: Publications (research paper, policy briefs, commentaries, reports…) and coaching and mentoring
2. Education: Master’s minimum, PhD prefer
3. Skills/Competencies:
- Research skills, public policy, (social) sciences;
- Mentoring and coaching;
- Clear communication skills in a multicultural team;
- Excellent organisational and management skills. Very well organised and structured work style;
- Fluency in oral and written English;
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team;
- Fully computer literate
V. Research Output Fee
