Uni4Coop is a coordination platform created by four Belgian university NGOs that are ECLOSIO (the NGO of the University of Liège), Louvain Coopération (the NGO of the Catholic University of Louvain), FUCID (University of Namur) and ULB - Coopération (Free University of Brussels). The 4 NGOs are all engaged in development and international cooperation projects, mainly financed by the Directorate-General for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid (DGD), Belgium. Uni4Coop's specificity is to contribute to development by mobilizing the human and scientific resources of the university community.
In Cambodia, Uni4Coop is represented by ECLOSIO and Louvain Cooperation (LC). The programs of intervention include (i) Sustainable Food Systems (SFS), (ii) and Health, with an emphasis on non-communicable diseases and mental health. Under the SFS program, the Partnership for Agroecology Transition, Networking and Efficient Resilience (PArTNER) project provides direct financial and technical supports to Farmer Organization (FO) partners including Agricultural Cooperatives (ACs) and Union of Agricultural Cooperatives (UACs) in Battambang, Takeo and Kampong Thom provinces, with additional technical supports from other partners and collaborators of the project. The PArTNER project aims at enhancing FOs’ capacities in their business management, in promoting agroecology transition among the FOs’ members and stakeholders, strengthening FOs’ institutional functions, building market linkages for the products of ACs and UACs, increasing access to finance as well as reinforcing collaborations between FOs and relevant stakeholders.
Location: Phnom Penh, with frequent travels to project sites
- Provide training and coaching to FO partners and the Business Development Facilitators (BDFs) on business plan development, business management, marketing, and value chain analysis using ValueLinks methodology;
- Work closely with Uni4Coop’s FO partners and BDFs in Battambang, Takeo and Kampong Thom provinces to develop business plans, implement and monitor the progress of the businesses;
- Provide support to FO partners to develop new products and services following the agroecology principles; and organize online and physical marketing campaigns to promote their agricultural products and services;
- Support FO partners to identify new business partners at national level, and be a focal person to liaise the interactions;
- Provide supports to FO partners in their business matching efforts through the organization of or participation in business events including exhibitions, trade fairs, business conferences and meetings;
- Oversee the implementation of PArTNER project’s partners/collaborators in the areas related to his/her capacity;
- Contribute inputs to the knowledge management efforts led by the SFS Program Manager;
- Support SFS Program Manager to run social media campaigns and other communication programs if needed;
- Report regularly and keep his/her supervisors informed about all activities, progresses and problems encountered in the field; and
- Maintain strong and trusted working relationships with all stakeholders of Uni4Coop, and represent Uni4Coop in meetings, forums, and other social events if/when assigned.
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Business Administration, Management, Marketing or other related fields;
- 5 years of working experience in business sector, with at least 2 years of experience working with SMEs in agricultural sector;
- Proven experience in business development and management, value chain analysis and marketing – the knowledge of value-chain approaches and methodologies are important assets;
- Strong knowledge and skills in capacity building to different levels of stakeholders;
- Proficient in English and Khmer with good English writing skills – the English writing skills will be tested;
- Strong coordination skills, and be able to coordinate multi-actor interactions
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to develop good working relationships;
- Proficient in computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office, internet and emails;
- Having basic skills in graphic design and online marketing is desirable.
