Children’s Fund (CCF) is a leading international NGO that contributes to social development by providing life-changing education, nourishment, and healing to vulnerable children from some of Cambodia’s most destitute communities. CCF operates in Cambodia through strong support relationship development and fundraising businesses in the USA, Australia, the UK, and Hong Kong. It has grown rapidly since its inception. To support its development, CCF is currently looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Software Developer based in Phnom Penh.

The Software Developer is responsible for developing and modifying in-house software applications by participating in the new requirements, designing, implementing, testing, and supporting custom solutions, which include feature enhancements, new functionalities, and back-end systems integration. This role works closely with the IT team to leverage the newest technologies, both software and hardware.

Reports to: Senior Manager Reporting and compliance
Manages: N/A
Key Liaison: Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities

1. Model the organization’s values and associated behaviors within the office
2. Develop, design, implement, test, and support the customer solutions, which include feature enhancements, new functionalities, and back-end system integration
3. Create technical specifications and test plans, coding tests, and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology
4. Interact with subject matter experts (functional & technical) to understand business requirements and technology architecture of the applications accordingly
5. Maintain and modify programs, make approved changes by amending flow charts, develop detailed programming logic, and coding changes
6. Evaluate simple interrelationships between programs, such as whether a contemplated change in one part of a program would cause unwanted results in a related part
7. Analyze the performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users and approval of supervisor
8. Write the operational documentation with technical authors
9. Maintain the system by monitoring and correcting software defects
10. Investigate new technologies and provide on-the-job training to related staff
11. Contribute to code reviews for quality assurance and conformance to standards/guidelines
12. Provide technical guidance and lead/develop team members
13. Assist in infrastructure and system software setup for development and testing environment

Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Diploma of Engineering
2. At least 3 years experience in Software Development, such as writing and reviewing code for sites, typically HTML, XML, VB.Net, or JavaScript
3. Knowledge of integrating multimedia content onto a site
4. Knowledge of UI/UX Design Specialization
5. Good oral and written communication skills in English
6. Good interpersonal skills and well-organized
7. Honest and trustworthy, patient, respectful and helpful
8. Able to take high responsibility, be flexible and committed
