Aide et Action International (AEAI) is an international NGO. It began its programs in India in 1981 and is now working in 20 countries across Africa, Europe, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and China to support the development of sustainable education projects with our belief in the universal right to quality education and bases each intervention around this ethos.

The MEAL Officer will specifically responsible for implementing the M&E activities of AEA projects. S/he will assist in planning performance monitoring, regular field monitoring on the project activities implemented by partners, and preparing Semester/Annual reports on project progress. S/he will coordinate all data collection and verification to ensure high quality data, and to help ensure accountability and efficiency of the project. S/he will provide frequent remote engagement and field visits, working with project staff to assess the field conditions and support partners capacity strengthening to assess conditions of MIS to meet minimum requirements of AEA and donors, support capacity strengthening, and facilitate the data verifying and reporting as part of data quality assurance.

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Social Sciences, Education, or related disciplines;
  • Knowledge of research/evaluation, data collection and analysis methodologies including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods.
  • In-depth knowledge on MIS, M&E and development issues
  • Excellent knowledge of monitoring and the application of methodology: good understanding of capacity assessment methodologies; excellent ability to identify significant capacity building opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral): Sensitivity to and responsiveness to all partners
  • Computer proficiency in Windows environment (Microsoft Word, advanced Excel, PowerPoint), Google Drive/Google Sheets, online platforms and mobile Apps. for digital solutions.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the design and implementation of M&E in development projects implemented by national/international NGOs/UN bodies/ Government/private sector.
  • Experience in planning and managing surveys, developing and refining data collection tools, and with data quality assessments and oversight.
  • Strong experience in conducting field monitoring to oversee projects activities.
  • Strong information management and telecommunication skills and proficiency in IT/computer skills (including sound advanced MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word proficiency), Google drive/Google Sheets, online collaborative applications and other software for data analytics
  • Experience in designing tools and processes/methods for data collection and data quality assurance.
  • Strong experience in conducting field visits for spot check, data validation and to monitor the quality and completeness of data sets.
  • Comfort working with qualitative and quantitative methodologies for data collection and analysis.
