 AusCam Freedom Projec t (AusCam) is a non-profit organisation headquartered in Sydney, Australia with a Country Office in Phnom Penh. We believe every girl deserves to be free from trafficking and exploitation so we have a mission to actively protect and empower adolescent girls through crisis intervention, educational support, counselling, training and mentoring.

Position Summary
A member of the Protection Team and reporting to the Protection Manager, the Social Worker will drive the excellence in AusCam’s protection service delivery to at-risk girls. The Social Worker ensures safeguarding and quality case management are continuously provided to client girls to keep them safe from sexual exploitation or re-exploitation, particularly Online Child Sexual Exploitation (OCSE).

The position’s focus areas:
Manage operations of our hotline (Freedom Line);
Identify risks concerning OCSE/sexual exploitations against girls and provide safeguarding services;
Implement quality case management services for client girls and their families;
Provide the OCSE awareness and promote AusCam services to the girls, families and community to engage more clients to assess and report to AusCam;

Key Tasks:
Direct responsibility of clients safeguarding and case management:

  • Coordinate the operations of hotline for girls in crisis (Freedom Line and Facebook Messenger, chatbot and telegram) with other social workers;
  • Ensure initial contact with clients is done in a timely manner and at highest standards;
  • Conduct initial interview with hotline callers or the referrals from stakeholders to identify initial risks of harm;
  • Conduct concise assessment with potential at-risk girls to identify acute and prolonged risks of harm concerning OCSE or other sexual exploitations through applying the AusCam RisK Assessment Tool (RAT);
  • Undertake immediate interventions of crisis faced by the client girls (e.g. safeguarding, emergency welfare support, psychological first-aid, legal advice, etc.);
  • Tailor a proper case management plan for each client girl aiming at mitigating the identified risk factors;
  • Conduct regular following up to monitor the client progresses and trace for emerging risks in order to take timely interventions;
  • Provide counselling and mentoring in times of transition, heightened stress, critical changes, crises, to support clients’ emotional well-being;
  • Implement client welfare relief supports (food support, income stability, health check-up, etc.);
  • Provide the OCSE awareness and promote AusCam services to the girls, families and community to engage more clients to assess and report to AusCam;
  • Coordinate with other stakeholders to refer client girls to appropriate services unavailable in AusCam’s programs;
  • Prepare, maintain, and update clients records through OSCaR system in a timely manner;
  • Responsible for project logistic and administrative;
  • Other tasks required by AusCam Protection Manager.


Reporting, planning, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), Logframe & Budget Development

  • Assist in collecting data to evaluate the program’s individual outcomes;
  • Assist in the process of monitoring and evaluation of project outcomes;
  • Record all incoming calls from the hotline, Messenger, Telegram and AusCam chatbot;
  • Use tools and frameworks for monitoring and evaluation of project outcomes ( TNA, client surveys, Beneficiary list, OSCaR custom form, etc.)
  • Provide the monthly report to the line manager;
  • Assist the line manager to develop the case story.
  • Be the ultimate team-player and brilliant ambassador of AusCam Freedom Project
  • Be an ambassador for AusCam at the partner school/NGO partners to actively support the client girls;
  • Participate in staff meetings, program reflection, case conference, training as approved by the management;
  • Support other team members as appropriate;
  • Collaborate with other NGOs to refer client girls for professional support when necessary (Psychological and Health support…).


About the successful applicant

  • Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or relevant fields;
  • Min. 2-3 years experiences in Social Work with an NGO is preferable;
  • Experiences in child protection, case management; and counselling;
  • Computer Literate with ability to learn new software quickly;
  • Excellent Khmer skills, good command of written English;
  • knowledge of the root causes of trafficking and exploitation and the impact on young women and families;
  • Ability to identify root causes of problems and develop methods to address them;
  • Team player with excellent time management and ability to work independently;
  • Ability to work with across different stakeholders;
  • Resonates with AusCam’s Mission and Core Values;
  • Capacity to thrive under pressures.
