Discover Your Possibilities (DYP) DYP is a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded and registered with the Ministry of Interior in Cambodia with Prakas #114 on 14th of January 2021. The purpose of the organization is to improve the living conditions of children and adults with visual impairments, in the province of Siem Reap, Cambodia and other provinces as feasible, by providing educational support, skill trainings, and different vocational training opportunities.

DYP is looking for a qualified Cambodian candidate dedicated to fulfil the position of an IT/Assistive Technology Teacher with knowledge in the field of Social Media, based in Siem Reap town, who teaches the blind and people with visual impairments. IT/Assistive Technology Teacher will work according to the needs and can also be assigned to other tasks within the young Organization.

IT/Assistive Technology Teacher will work according to the needs and can also be assigned to other tasks within the young Organization.
Responsibilities for the position
- Responsibilities as IT/Assistive Technology Teacher:
- Provides basic computer- and smartphone training for teenagers and adults with visual impairments.
- Searches for helpful Apps and trains the students to make use of them
- Searches for Apps which supports their studies at DYP and trains the students to make use of them, (i.e. learn different languages, music etc.)
- Engages learners by using a variety of approaches and motivating strategies to convey their knowledge and to develop their skills, maximizing instructional time
- Is interested and eager to specialize in IT and other technologies which can help people with visual impairments, such as video magnifiers, special Apps etc.
- Takes initiative to plan lessons that meet the development level of the student
- Promotes student self-confidence
- Develops and prioritizes measurable objectives for students, both short and long term
- Develops performance measures and informs students of the criteria for success
- Evaluates student performance, keeps records, and reports progress in learning
- Responsibilities as Social Media Specialist
- Creates and manages the organizations' social media to ensure that everything works properly, smoothly and in accordance with the principles of the organization.
- Develops and implements social media strategies.
- Creates and curates content for various social media platforms.
- Monitors social media accounts, responding to comments and messages in a timely manner.
- Stays up-to-date on the latest media trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Shoots videos which promote the organization’s goals
Requirements for the position
- Good knowledge of English
- Basic Knowledge of photos and Videos for social media posting.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles.
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Treats the students in a manner which respects the students’ rights to privacy and dignity
- Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned
- Flexibility
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication ability
- Degree in Computer Science or relevant field
- Good reputation and character
