Position: Counselor (Chab Dai)__Deadline:29-February

 
Starting salary: $550.00-$600.00 (Based on experience)
Based: Phnom Penh, Cambodia with some travels where needed Reports to:  CBCC-Project Manager and is a full-time post. (Open to national citizens only)

Direct Counseling and Support:
  • Provide direct counseling to survivors and their families in the community, creating a safe and supportive environment for healing.
  • Develop case plans and provide technical assistance related to survivor support processes, ensuring comprehensive care and support.

Facilitate Access to Services:
  • Facilitate access to social services and therapy for survivors, ensuring they receive the necessary support for their recovery.
  • Refer survivors to community resources as needed, connecting them with additional support networks and services.

Social Service Access:
  • Collaborate with local authorities to ensure survivors and their families can access social services in their communities.
  • Build the capacity of local authorities through Trauma Informed Care skills training to support survivors effectively.
  • Organize training sessions for local authorities to raise awareness about trauma and trauma- informed care practices.
  • Facilitate community-level interventions to promote survivor well-being and resilience.

Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain regular reporting and documentation, including weekly and monthly reports, case notes, and outcome reports, to track progress and outcomes.

Coordination and Collaboration:
  • Coordinate meetings with local authorities and seek assistance for providing services to survivors and their families, fostering collaboration and support from community stakeholders.
  • Conduct   assessments   and   create   plans   for   assisting   survivors'   families,   documenting engagements and assessments to ensure holistic support.
  • Collaborate internally, particularly with Case Support Management Project (CMSP) and Legal Support Project (LSP) projects, to support survivors in their restoration journey.

Follow-Up and Progress Monitoring:
  • Follow up with survivors' families to ensure improvement in their situation, providing ongoing support and assistance as needed.
  • Report regularly to the Project Manager and/or the team on task progress, ensuring transparency and accountability in project implementation.

Logistical Support:
  • Assist  in  managing  logistical  aspects  of  project  activities,  including  event  preparation  and fieldwork planning.
  • Coordinate with the project team to ensure smooth implementation of fieldwork plans and events.
  • Provide support in maintaining accurate records of financial transactions and preparing necessary documentation.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform other assigned tasks agreed upon with the Project Manager, contributing to the overall success of the project and the well-being of survivors.

  • they arise.

  • Well-organized with strong teamwork abilities, able to collaborate effectively with project staff
  • and support team objectives.
  • Respectful and sensitive to the rights and values of survivors, ensuring their dignity and well- being are upheld throughout transportation activities.
  • Good leadership skills with the ability to inspire a shared vision.
  • Completion of Family Therapy course.
  • Proficient in Khmer and English communication (written and verbal).
  • Strong relationship-building skills and collaboration with local authorities and government officials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and internet usage.
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight in provinces.
  • Commitment to Chab Dai Coalition's policies and procedures

Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in providing counseling and psychosocial support to survivors of trauma or abuse.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project staff and survivors.
  • Commitment to Chab Dai Coalition's mission, vision, and core values.
