Position: Social Worker

Section: Children and Families

Location: Siem Reap, Banteay Meanchey and Kampong Thom

Schedule: Monday to Friday - Full-Time (37.5hrs per week)

Salary: (Negotiable depending on the qualification and experiences)

This Life currently operates programs under three sections: Children and Families, Communities, and Impact, Learning, and Effectiveness. These sections are supported by This Life’s Shared Services.

We are looking for a Social Worker to join our team and help us achieve our vision, mission, values, and goals. You will be responsible in direct working with children in residential care and their families (immediate or extended). The Social Worker will work with all stakeholders (RCIs, DoSVY, local authority, children, families and communities) to support and facilitate the reintegration of children with their families and provide technical support to RCI to transition/close. This will inform best practice in reintegration support across Cambodia as part of the FCF l REACT initiative. The position is based Siem Reap with frequent travel across the broader provincial area required.

Key Responsibilities:

    Program

  • Engage and liaise with key stakeholders, particularly children and their families, residential care institutions (RCIs), DoSVY, local authorities, community members and other NGOs, in order to build and maintain strong community relationships
  • Assist PC in carrying out program activities in order to meet broader program objectives and This Life in Cambodia’s overarching organisational goals. 
  • Assist the Program Coordinator in preparing program work/action plans, annual budgets, program documentation and reporting on activities and progress against program objectives for monthly and quarterly donor reporting.
  • Actively support and participate in program M&E activities to support practice improvement and reporting of program activities.
  • Identify and implement improvements to help the program achieve its stated aims and objectives
  • Attend all relevant internal and external meetings in order to build the knowledge and networks required to be successful in this position. 
  • Assist and carry out the assigned works from the program coordinator
  • Commitment to and active promotion of child safety and child protection.

Role Requirements:

    Qualifications & Experience

  • University Degree, Diploma or equivalent in a relevant field from a tertiary institution
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar case management/social worker role
  • Experience working in the field of child reintegration, community-based prevention or responses to family separation and/or children & families services 
  • Experience working with local authorities and NGO partners 
  • Experience working in an international organization within donor-funded programs – experience working with USAID funded programs will be highly regarded.

  • Proficient in MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Valid driver’s license (desired)

    Communication

  • Advanced level of written and spoken Khmer
  • Intermediate level of written and spoken English
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the demonstration of sensitivity to and appreciation for diverse viewpoints and different communications styles in a multicultural environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in harmony with staff members of different nationalities, with a mutually supportive team approach
