Wildlife Alliance is an international non-profit organization dedicated to assisting governments in fighting the illegal wildlife trade, managing protected areas, balancing development with conservation, conducting land use planning, developing economically self-sustaining communities through agriculture and eco-tourism, securing and caring for endangered wildlife populations and building sustainable financing solutions.
The Care for Rescued Wildlife team is designed to rehabilitate animals victimized by the wildlife trade and provide them with the support and care necessary to ready them for release back into the wild.
DUTIES
- Manage portfolio of grants for the Care for Rescued Wildlife and Release Programs (CRW), currently worth >$500,000 annually:
- Ensure reports are submitted on time by maintaining CRW reporting calendar, preparing templates, coordinating inputs from relevant staff, and preparing the final draft of each report for the Director.
- Research and track new funding opportunities that align with WA’s programs.
- Liaise with Finance Department on budgeting for proposals and reports.
- Prepare grant applications/technical proposals for CRW Programs, collaborating with managers of other WA programs on cross-program opportunities.
- Maintain meticulous database records of CRW grant information, grant funds, online fundraising disbursements, and donor profiles.
- Manage full-cycle online fundraising on various platforms all Wildlife Alliance projects:
- Design appeals and participate in appropriate matching campaigns.
- Prepare quarterly updates for donors.
- Prepare disbursement reports for Finance Department.
- Manage data and analyze results for all CRW Programs and sites:
- Maintain master databases for each program/site.
- Review and triangulate monthly reports of relevant staff, checking for data entry errors and to ensure accuracy.
- Analyze results for varying time periods to match reporting and communication requirements.
- Prepare quarterly data on wildlife and patrol results for all Community Conservation sites for the Director’s newsletter.
- Advise the Director of any issues identified through reporting and analysis of results to ensure deliverables and targets are met.
- Support ongoing expansion/assessment of the community
- Collaborate with the Research Biologist and other relevant staff to prepare scientific journal articles that integrate program results.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of work experience in environmental conservation, international development, monitoring, evaluation and learning, or another relevant field (candidates with Master’s degree and 3 years’ experience may be considered).
- Excellent skills in writing and editing English-language reports.
- Strong skills in data management and analysis using Excel: maintaining databases for tracking project results; knowledge of statistical functions and pivot tables for analysis.
- Self-starter with strong cross-cultural communication skills and experience collaborating with staff at all levels.
