Position: Radiology Technician (AHC)__Deadline:18Aug

 

The Radiology technician works as the roles in the Imaging Unit. The Radiology technician directly accountable to the Radiology Team Leader.

Duties, responsibilities and accountabilities

Primary responsibilities

1. Take X-ray and CT scans as requested by physicians
2. Processing digital x-ray and CT scans on time to Radiologist/physicians
3. Record and data entry for producing the report
4. Checking, cleaning and maintaining the equipment/devices
5. To be able to practice without direct supervision
6. To undertake appropriate on-call duties as specified in the on call schedule
7. To keep track monthly report
8. Assume responsibilities in cooperation within the Imagery Unit
9. To always ask for help when you are unsure, uncertain or do not know what to do

Professional responsibilities

1. Follow the hospital policies and procedures
2. Adhere to the terms of the contract of employment
3. Follow the health and safety guidelines of the hospital
4. Identify inappropriate practices by any AHC staff member
5. Be accountable for all own actions
6. While on duty, act as a representative for the AHC
7. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
8. Do not use hospital property or resources for personal use
9. Inform team leader as soon as possible if unable to work due to illness, absence following the hospital policy

Educational responsibilities

1. Attend BLS and Infection Control refresher course once a year
2. Attend class as required and comply with Nursing Education requirement
3. Train selected staff the radiology skills when directed by Nursing Department
4. Take advantage of radiology specialization training when available
5. Have a good understanding of physiology, anatomy, disease and condition and continue to update and expand nursing knowledge
6. Participate in and provide appropriate in-service training and facilitation of new employees
7. Ask for teaching or explanation whenever necessary in the clinical setting
8. Maintain a working level of English relevant the role of radiology assistant in AHC

Personal qualities and requirements

1. Radiology technician/Associated Degree in Nursing (ADN)/Primary nurse is also encouraged for the job holder who has merits as described in the job and professional responsibilities
2. Arrive at work on time, wearing the correct uniform and ensuring personal hygiene
3. Treat all people in the hospital politely and with respect (colleagues, visitors, children and their families)
4. Be enthusiastic, team work oriented, and highly committed to the hospital
5. Be honest and trustworthy
6. Be creative and flexible at work
7. Good communication skills and understanding
8. Be adaptable and change roles to meet the needs of the department
