World Education (WE) is an international not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving education and life outcomes. WE has been operating in Cambodia since 1991.
WE will implement the literacy component of the USDA McGovern-Dole funded Food For Education project. Under this four-year project (2023-2026), WE will work in the provinces of Kampong Thom and Siem Reap to assist the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport (MoEYS) in its implementation of its new Komar Rien Komar Cheh early grade literacy package. WE will assist with teacher training and support for teacher mentoring and school-based management, distribute teaching and learning materials, and build the capacity of MoEYS at all levels. WE/C is seeking qualified Cambodian nationals to fill the following positions.
Field Admin /Finance Officer (1 position based in Kampon g Thom)
Field Admin/Finance Officers will be part of the World Education project team implementing the USDA McGovern-Dole program.
The position will be based at the project target in Kampong Thom Province. This position will report to the Project Manager.
This position will start in September 2023 and will end in September 2025.
Main Responsibilities and duties
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Assist in organizing the logistics for all training and other relevant events;
- Purchase office supplies, housekeeping supplies, and monthly staff phone cards;
- Ensure that all field office equipment is well maintained and properly utilized;
- Maintain systematic document filing;
- Organize and maintain inventory and office supplies;
- Manage vehicle log books and fuel log sheets;
- Assist in coordination and facilitation of travel to the field by all staff.
Finance Responsibilities:
- Translate and record all financial transactions into Excel Spreadsheets and QuickBooks System on a daily basis;
- Prepare monthly expense reports for the Phnom Penh office;
- Prepare monthly cash request for field operating expenses;
- Provide advances and travel reimbursements for all staff (Kampong Thom and Siem Reap);
- Review all expenses reports to ensure that all transactions follow established policies and procedures;
- Review expense reports to ensure recording accuracy and relevance to budget line items;
- Administer electronic payments to vendors and WE/C staff using Internet banking;
- Perform other work-related duties as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance or equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 years of work experience in accounting and financial management preferably working for an NGO or within International Development Organization or corporate sector.
- Strong interpersonal skills and good attention to detail.
- Hard working, friendly, honest, respectful, flexible, and open.
- Good attitude, pleasant disposition, and ability to take initiative in work.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Khmer.
- Proficiency in accounting programs, preferably QuickBooks.
- Ability to work and travel to remote areas.
