The Role

We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to join our team as a Community Fundraising Support Officer (CFSO). The CFSO will play an important role in supporting the Corporate, Events and Visitor Centre Unit across various revenue streams and administrative duties to increase awareness and funds for AHC. In this role, you will assist members of the public and organisations with their fundraising events, build relationships with local community members, execute the donation box program and assist the senior officers where required.  

As a Community Fundraising Support Officer, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will also need to be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.  

To ensure the delivery of an exceptional visitor experience, the Community Fundraising Support Officer is also responsible for coordinating all visitor services and operational activities in the Visitor Centre on Saturdays. As a core member of the fundraising department, the CFSO assists the Corporate and Events officers as needed. 

Job Objectives

  • Deliver high level of donor relations and services 
  • Maximize funds and awareness raised for AHC by building relationships with local supporters during their fundraising activities
  • Monitor and execute the donation box programme
  • Assist the Senior Officers with administration tasks and record keeping 
  • As a member of the Corporates and Events team, you will assist with the running of the Visitor Centre including events and functions on Saturdays and when required. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with local supporters to help them run fundraising events on behalf of AHC 
  • Identifying and cultivating relationships with potential donors and sponsors 
  • Assist with administrative duties for the Senior Officers when required
  • Collaborating with other team members to promote our organization and mission 
  • Maintaining accurate records of donations 
  • Assist with smaller, local fundraising initiatives and events when required  
  • Support the donation box collection internally and externally, including checking the boxes, counting money from the boxes, recording and reporting the donation, and processing agreements for external supporters
  • Assist with welcoming donors and the donation presentations from corporate donors including the production of the Certificate of Appreciation and Thank You Certificate on weekends and public holidays
  • Other appropriate tasks delegated by the Manager and the Head of the Department.

Position Requirements/Qualifications

Work Experience

  • Have a bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in business, administration, marketing or other relevant fields
  • Two years in shop operator, sales, marketing, communications, public relations, external relations, fundraising or related area.

Skills and Abilities

  • Able to communicate confidently to donors and supporters
  • A warm and outgoing personality, able to build great working relationships with people of all backgrounds and make them feel at ease
  • Confident to produce and understand written and spoken Khmer and English at a professional level. 
  • Numerate, with a strong attention to detail and understanding of cash handling best practice and control measures
  • Pro‐active, independent, a quick thinker, able to problem solve ‘on the go’
  • Honest and reliable
  • Able to multi‐task – work on many projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and under pressure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and Power Point), Outlook, and comfortable using the Internet
  • Ability to learn new things, to work flexible hours, to travel nationally
  • Ability to take constructive criticism on board and makes adjustments accordingly
  • Receptive and open to new ideas and ready to develop new initiatives.
