I. About Khmer Community Development (KCD)
Khmer Community Development (KCD) is a non-profit, non-governmental, non-religious, independent local organization that registered in 2005 with the Ministry of Interior of the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia. There are 4 projects implementing which is Peace, Child’s right, Community Development and Nutrition Project.
Our vision:
A peaceful development multicultural society, in which the genuine need and rights of all stakeholder, regardless their gender, age, race, religious belief, or social status, are recognized, respected and satisfied, in the respect of environment.
II. Frequency of consultant
The consultant will require engagement with KCD for fourteen (14) working days in total. Specifically, the consultant will be required to undertake the following:
▪ 1 day for preparation the lesson plan
▪ 5 days for conducting the training on disaster risk management which will be covered the model of the one in use nationwide, which touches on the following topics:
o What is Disaster Management
o What are the types of natural disasters that can occur.
o National Alert System 1294
o What behaviours are to be followed in case of disaster
o Water management and hygiene practices during emergencies
▪ 3 days for conducting the training on Wash management
▪ 3 days for conducting the refreshment training to KCD staff while the challenges or experience from the field will be discussed
▪ 1 days for support to the KCD staff on consultant to KCD staff during the project implementing and publish IEC material
▪ 1days for report writing
III. Deliverables
1. 5 days training to KCD staff
2. 3 days training on Wash management
3. 3 days of refresher training to KCD staff
4. Lesson plan/manual for ToT training
5. Summary report KCD will be responsible for:
1. Providing the meeting room and refreshments for the training,
2. Providing input into the agenda process before the training, and
3. Engaging actively in the training sessions
IV. Planned timelines
• Location: Phnom Penh
• Schedule: Long-term
• Starting date: Beginning of May 2023
• Ended date: the end of August 2023
V. Requirements
• EDUCATION
o Essential: A degree in Environment specific on disaster risk management or relevant field.
o EXPERIENCE
o Essential Qualifications:
o Minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience disaster risk management
o Language requirements:
o English written and oral communication skills
VI. Term of Payment
The service fee is up to USD 300 per day (including VAT or withholding tax 15%). Payments will be made based on the actual number of days worked.
VII. Management
The consultant will be managed by the project staff and management, on behalf of both partners.
VIII. Payment Schedule
Payment will be made based on the discussion when the application is selected.
