Role overview
Under the leadership and guidance of the
Project Manager and working alongside international key expert
(Regional Education Management Advisor-REMA), the Project Coordinator
will coordinate, plan and deliver on-the-job technical assistance and
capacity building to the school leaders (directors and deputy
directors), teachers and librarians of approximately 10 Upper Secondary
Schools (called as Secondary Resource School) within the region, and to
personnel of the newly established Regional School Improvement Team
(RSIT) based in the Provincial Office of Education (POE). The technical
assistance will be about harmonizing School Based Management (SBM) with
several innovations including STEM, library management, and Career
Counselling and Guidance (CGC).
The Project Coordinator will be mainly responsible for the coordination,
planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluationof the project
activities in more coordinated and harmonized manner to the professional
development of school leaders, librarians and STEM and CGC teachers;
positive relationship and effective collaboration development,
communication and knowledge sharing and the facilitation with and
between project stakeholders at national, regional, provincial and
school levels. He/She will work together with the International Regional
Education Management Advisor who is expected to work as a team and to
harmonize their work plans including their school support visits and
Regional School Improvement Team/Advisor (RSIT)’s. They will work in
close cooperation with other VSO Cambodia project team members who work
at the national level and in the other regions on the same project. The
Project Coordinator will also be responsible for supporting
international REMA in terms of language translation from English to
Khmer and vice versa, coordination with relevant key stakeholders and
partners, and other logistics per agreed.
The Project Coordinator and the international REMA will be based at the
Secondary Education Office in the Provincial Office of Education (POE)
in the provincial town, and is expected to conduct frequent school
visits to all the target Upper Secondary Schools within the region.
