Position: Call for Proposals: Youth Policy Research (TI Cambodia)__Deadline:13Apr

The Centre for Governance Research and Education of Transparency International Cambodia invites young women and men—individuals or teams—under the age of 35 to submit their research proposals for the Young Policy Researchers Grants. The grants aim at inspiring and engaging young Cambodians, especially university students, young journalists, and young researchers, in policy research on key issues affecting them. Eight grants of USD 500 will be awarded per completion of the research project. The research project will deepen knowledge on problems affecting youth in one of these four areas—education, health, employment and civic and political engagement—and provide specific pragmatic, action-oriented recommendations for relevant stakeholders to address the problems.

This Youth Policy Research Grant is part of the Women and Youth Empowerment in Leadership (WYEL) Project funded by The United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project aims at increasing the knowledge of women and youth on accountability, transparency, and democratic governance and building the capacity of women and youth to engage in decision making processes in the country.

Who can apply for the grant?
Applicants can apply as individuals or teams. They must be Cambodian and no more than 35 years of age. Applicants can be students in or graduates from an institution of higher education. Female applicants are particularly and strongly encouraged to apply.

The following criteria will be used to select successful proposals:
1)    Overall quality of the proposed research, more specifically:

  • The extent to which the research’s findings could inform the policy process and decisions.
