Position: SHORT TERM CONSULTANT on ENVIRONMENTAL, CLIMATE CHANGE & DISASTER RISK MITIGATION (KCD)__Deadline:05Mar

KCD is a non-profit, non-governmental, non-religious, independent local organization that registered in 2005 with the Ministry of Interior of the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia. KCD’s vision is a peaceful developing multicultural society, in which the genuine needs and rights of all stakeholders, regardless their gender, age, ethnicity, religious belief, ability or social status, are recognized, respected, and satisfied, in the respect of environment. KCD has three main project components, such as Child Rights, Peace, and Community Development.

Community Development project is a project funded by Quaker Service Australia (QSA), Bread for the World (BfdW) and Community for Children (C4C) which are supported the Inter-Ethnic Peace and Development project (IEPD).

1.    PURPOSE

KCD would like to hire the service of qualified consultant to provide training on environmental, climate change and disaster risk mitigation.

2.    OBJECTIVE

• To provide the training courses on Environmental, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Mitigation to District Education Department officials and Teachers.
• To provide consultation on development the environmental resources and materials for schools to raise awareness of environmental issues among students

3.    RESPONSIBILITY
a)    Prepare lesson plan and hand out for participants.
b)    Provide the training courses on Environmental, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Mitigation to District Education Department officials and Teachers.
c)    To provide the consultation on development the environment resources and materials for schools to raise awareness of environmental issues among students.
d)    Written training reported after complete the training courses (English version).

4.    PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

• High proficiency in terms of knowledge and experiences where relevance to the relate topic
• Hold on Bachelor Degree on Environmental and Climate Change or other relevant field qualification.
• Ability to perform tasks in accordance to KCD organizational values.
• Outgoing personality with good communication and training skills.

5.    WORK PLAN AND TIMELINE
The consultancy will require engagement with KCD for 8 working days in total. Schedule work complete before 31 March 2023.

• 2 day for conduct need assessment
• 1 day for preparation
• 4 days for conduct training to the district and school teacher
• 0.5 day for feedback and give an idea for producing the IEC material
• 0.5 day report writing

6.    Budget package: USD 1,600 (tax included).

7.    PAYMENT
The Consultant shall receive the payment upon completion and satisfaction of the outputs and agreed work plan. KCD is responsible to withhold tax (if 15% deducted) from consultant and shall to pay to the tax department of Cambodia.
