Title: Assistant Project Manager
Contract Period: 3-month probation with possibility extended by the end of December 2023
Starting salary: $650.00
Based: Phnom Penh, Cambodia (frequently travel to province)
Reports to:  CHPP-Project Manager and is a full-time post.

The project assistant has to take responsibility to involve in conducting an assessment to identify and set the target province and communities for project implementation, prepare, and develop the proposal, log frame, budget plan, and annual work plans. The project assistant will work with the project manager, and the project staff to communicate and select the community heroes to get involved with the project activities, and provide training sessions and strengthen the capacity to target groups on the prevention of human trafficking, sexual abuse, and safe migration. And to support the project manager to produce the prevention program model as manual as the donor requirements for replication. The project assistant and project staff will support and assist the community heroes in teaching and conducting awareness- raising with the target families and produce the project manually. The project assistant will support and manage the project staff to implement their work plans prepared, monitor the project progress activities, review the financial report, prepare the internal monthly report, and key achievement report, writing the project story of change and the activity pictures. Communicate with other partners to produce the training/awareness-raising material to use in the target communities and Join other meetings that are relevant to the project on behalf of the Project Manager.

Focus on the role: CHPP Assistant will oversee and take responsibility for some key areas of the project and report to the Project Manager. Work with the project team to identify and set the vulnerable target communities and families, and produce the project manual on the prevention program model. Assist the project manager to monitor the annual work plan, the progress activities, and project achievement. Review the monthly financial reports, prepare the internal monthly reports, summarize achievement reports and prepare the story of change and submit to the Project Manager two weeks before the deadline. Prepare, record, and file the community information documents in order with safety.

Organizational Collaboration
Chab Dai’s work is comprised of four main areas of work, or what we are calling “thematic areas.” These are Movement Building, Systems Strengthening, Community Empowerment, and Survivor Restoration. Chab Dai encourages communication between and integration across all areas. The ideal candidate for this position will be prepared to work closely with members of all thematic areas and operating support functions, such as Operations, People & Culture, Finance, and Monitoring & Evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Involved in preparing a project proposal, log frame, and budget plan, and producing the prevention program manual
  • Assist the project team to create and implement their weekly and monthly work plans clearly and properly.
  • Monitor regularly the progress activities and achievements by reflecting on the project log-frame (Project outputs, and outcomes).
  • Review and monitor the monthly financial report with a note for discussion with the project team.
  • Prepare and consolidate Internal Monthly Report, and Achievement Report and prepare Story of Change and Activity Pictures at least one week before the deadline.
  • Conduct training sessions and build capacity for heroes on human trafficking, sexual abuse, and migration.
  • Update the curriculum on human trafficking, sexual abuse, and migration for heroes.
  • Manage monthly phone calls follow up with heroes and target families in the communities to find out the project outcome?
  • Prepare, record, and file the community information documents in order with safety.
  • Prepare cash advance and settlement for project activities.
  • Join other meetings that are relevant to the project on behalf of the Project Manager.

  • Bachelor’s degree in management and related fields (Required)
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (Required)
  • Interpersonal and communication skills (Preferred)
  • Good English (both written and spoken) (Required)
  • 3 years’ experience working at the level of Project Management (Preferred)
  • Good experiences in working with the poor and vulnerable people in the communities and local authorities (Preferred)
  • Good experiences in designing and producing training/awareness-raising materials (Preferred)
  • Have good experiences in facilitating training/awareness-raising and event (Preferred)
  • Good understanding and experience in writing the outcome and impact-based–report and the story of change (Preferred)
