The role

The role is responsible for planning and teaching classes in the computer labs according to the CCF curriculum. The incumbent assesses and monitors student performance against these skill sets in the curriculum. He/she must teach with a clear objective which follows the course outline/curriculum and employ a variety of teaching and learning strategies that make learning fun yet challenge those who need it and support those having difficulties. The ICT teacher must be able to cooperate as part of a teaching team to plan lessons that meet students’ needs, interests and abilities. The ICT Teacher involves and works closely with ICT program coordinator and ICT Teacher Team Leader to develop CCF ICT curriculum, textbooks and resources for all levels. The position also helps other teachers improve their ICT skills by guiding, teaching and supporting their colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Support and Teaching
Cooperate as a member of a teaching team to plan lessons that meet individual students’ needs, interests and abilities;
Work with ICT program coordinator and ICT Teacher Team Leader to develop CCF ICT curriculum, resources and textbooks;
Research new e-learning and ICT tools related to the curriculum and plan to teach students and train other teachers on how to use those tools;
Be involved in education team meetings to identify e-learning and ICT opportunities and advise about IT capabilities where necessary;
Maintain accurate and complete students' records as required by CCF;
Be involved in ICT teacher team meetings to identify e-learning and ICT opportunities or solve problems in using e-Learning and ICT activities;
Continually evaluate ICT and e-learning resources to ensure they are meeting the CCF curricular objectives and suitable for the cultural context and skill development needs of the CCF student population;
Monitor and assess students to ensure they are meeting ICT learning objectives;
Provide professional development related to computer and ICT skills for teachers and other education staff as required;
Model CCF’s values and behaviors within and outside the classroom;
Strive to maintain and improve professional competencies as outlined in the CCF Professional Standards for Teachers;
Encourage students to set and maintain appropriate standards of classroom behavior
through the creation of classroom agreements that outline expected behaviours inside and outside the classroom;
Give advice and talk to individual to students who have not followed classroom agreements and expectations;
Report any concerns or issues regarding student behaviour, health, hygiene or well-being to the relevant staff;
Attend meetings, teacher seminars/ training as required;
IT Related Responsibilities
Administrative tasks such as keeping accurate records of computer lab bookings, what is being taught in classes and maintenance requests
Prepare and manage computer lab bookings from teachers using a Google form
Conduct daily checks of software and hardware and report problems to the IT helpdesk
Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Education Team when required
Act as a contact person for reporting IT issues to the IT helpdesk
Advise on software policies and requirements for installing software onto CCF network
Ensure a safe learning environment in the computer labs for all students
Ensure that all students and staff are responsible users of technology and follow the CCF Internet Use Policy
Requirements
Ethical and able to demonstrate CCF values in day-to-day work
Bachelor degree of Computer Science or related field
Certificate of Teaching Methodology is preferred
Knowledge of Computer management network and maintenance
Knowledge of ICT Program planning and project management
High compassion and commitment to work with our community and children from a difficult background
Working Hours: 7:30am-12:00pm and 1:30pm -5:00pm, Monday – Saturday.
Remunerations
