The Cambodian Center for Human Rights (“CCHR”), a non-aligned, independent, non-governmental organization that works to promote and protect for human rights- in particular civil and political rights-democracy, and the rule of law in the Kingdom of Cambodia, is seeking a dynamic and professional individual to fill the following position:
Position: Trial Monitor (01 Position) for Legal Aid and Protection from Misappropriation Justice Project.
Location: Trial Monitor based in Battambang province.
Requirements
- University degree in law or relevant fields;
- Strong knowledge of the Cambodian judicial system and fair trial rights;
- A minimum of one-year experience of providing project support, with experience monitoring trials;
- Fluency in written and spoken Khmer and English;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Experience of report writing;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure; and
- Computer skills (MS. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and email).
Responsibilities
- Monitor daily trials depending on the hearing schedule where they based on;
- Manage and review the trial monitoring checklist;
- Input the data collected from the trial monitoring into the trial monitoring database;
- Draft and follow up letters to stakeholders;
- Assist the project team to present the Project’s reports to court officials and various other stakeholders in meetings;
- Assist the project team to conduct raising awareness on fair trial rights if required.
- Assist the project coordinator to deliver the project implementation and results; and
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the Project Coordinator and the organization
