- Summary:
USAID/Cambodia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of USAID Development Outreach and Communications (DOC) Assistant for the Program Office.
The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Duties
Serving as the Mission's Development Outreach and Communications (DOC) Assistant, the incumbent is responsible for assisting the DOC Specialist in the development and implementation of the Mission's public information program and communication strategy under the general supervision of USAID/Cambodia’s Program Officer or his/her designee. The goal of the public information program is to increase awareness and understanding of the objectives, policies and achievements of USAID’s assistance program among key audiences.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
Physical Demands: The work requested does not involve undue physical demands.
Post Entry Training: On the job training, Agency specific courses, and commercial training that develop and maintain relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities, will be provided.
Education Requirements:
Education: Two (2) years of full-time post-secondary study in English, Marketing, Journalism, Mass Communications, Social Media Technology, Communications, Public Relations or International Development (equivalent to a US junior college or community college diploma) is required.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: English Level 4 and Khmer Level 4 (Advanced Proficiency) Speaking/Reading/Writing are required. (This may be tested.)
***Note: Applicants must include all languages known to include Khmer language in the application.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Able to quickly and accurately translate technical development subjects from English into Khmer, both verbally and in writing;
Able to work under extremely short time constraints;
Must be able to analyze, synthesize, and summarize information quickly and accurately;
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adjust to shifting priorities;
Able to develop and maintain excellent contacts and working relationship with USAID and U.S. Embassy colleagues, the media and implementing partners;
Strong knowledge of publication, design, editing, and graphics software for copy, photography, and video. (This may be tested.)
Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience in international development with duties that included communications or media/public relations or related administrative management. At least one year of this experience with an international/local organization or development donor is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: A thorough understanding of the structure of Cambodia’s media and development sectors is required. (This may be tested.)

1. The Mission may consider any of the following when determining successful candidacy: nepotism, conflicts of interest, budget, and residency status.
2. Current employees of the Mission who have not successfully completed their initial probationary periods are not eligible to apply. Current employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory or MBC score of less than 100 points, on their most recent Employee Performance Report (EPR) are not eligible to apply.
