Job Description

Scope of position: 

The Consumer Awareness and Financial Empowerment (CAFE) Initiative is one of the flagship programs of Good Return which aims at improving the financial well-being of low-income households across the Asia-Pacific region through financial education. The CAFE Digital Learning Coordinator is responsible for the digitalisation of CAFE curriculums and training, with optimal use of internal and external resources. S/he will support the CAFE Program Manager in the effective implementation and extension of the digitalised CAFE curriculums in the Asia-Pacific region.

The CAFE Digital Learning Coordinator will work across the whole organisation under the supervision of the CAFE Program Manager, and with partner agencies to achieve high-quality program outcomes and to ensure the scale-up of the program. The role may require some travel, and the incumbent is expected to be available to travel up to 25% of the time in the Asia Pacific region, as required to ensure smooth implementation of the program in different countries.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. CAFE Curriculum Development, Digitalisation and Maintenance (50%)

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the various CAFE components (curriculum and tools) as well as monitoring and evaluation processes (framework, surveys and report format).
  • Assist the CAFE Program Manager in understanding partners and expectations. 
  • Coordinate the development of the CAFE Digital Roadmap and the yearly action plans based on the roadmap.

With the support of the CAFE Team and the Design Team, and in compliance with the Program Manual:

  • Identify, define, and understand learning needs of CAFE participants in terms of financial inclusion and livelihoods.
  • Design and create financial literacy modules that could be used across easily accessible digital channels (e.g. apps, social media, elearning etc.). Ensure that the CAFE tools and curriculums use a human-centred design approach and that they are created aiming at learners' behaviour change. Ensure also that the learning materials are creative, engaging, cost-effective, scalable, and can leverage different digital channels.
  • Test the CAFE Digital modules and develop the needed documentation to improve them based on the lessons learned. 
  • Deploy them across targeted channels or partners. 
  • Maintain a library of the CAFE Digital modules and tools and enhance them as often as necessary.
  • Coordinate the translation of the digital modules in local languages as per program requirements. 
  • Support the Communication team in preparing documents, communications and knowledge-sharing materials to establish Good Return as a thought-leader in digital and financial capability and behaviour change in the Asia-Pacific region.

KPIs:

  1. A library of Digital modules and tools using a human-centred design approach is developed, validated and maintained. At least 20 new modules (various sizes, can be posters, videos, ecourse, etc.) developed every year
  2. Processes for creation, pilot and validation of the modules are in place and aligned with the Program Manual. 
  3. Communication materials (article, social media posts, etc.) promoting CAFE Digital are published - at least 4 publications per year

2. CAFE Digital Projects Implementation Support and Coordination (40%)

  • Engage regularly with CAFE learners and CAFE partners to develop empathy for their needs and motivations, using these insights to simplify and make digital curriculums more accessible and impactful.
  • Conduct training/workshops where necessary for partners and stakeholders.
  • Support the conceptualisation, management, coordination, and implementation of financial education interventions.
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of outputs and outcomes of partners’ financial and digital education activities within the scope of the CAFE Digital program.
  • Conduct research on different digital learning platforms and digital financial literacy/education programs to develop a detailed understanding of the landscape and develop recommendations for the project team.
  • Assist the country teams and partners in the design and roll-out of new and/or adapted materials (digital tools and platforms) to build financial and digital literacy for the target beneficiaries.

KPIs

  1. CAFE Digital Program documentation up to date, following Program Manual processes.
  2. Achievement of annual program plans & targets within allocated budget
  3. Program partners and clients report satisfaction with CAFE digital curriculum, tools  and outcomes.
  4. Program monitoring data/insights are captured and reported systematically, with a high degree of accuracy and quality.

3.  Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships (10%)

  • Support regular reporting to donors, including preparation of reporting decks and participation in stakeholder meetings.
  • Support in donor mapping, resource mobilisation and partnerships activities for CAFE programs.
  • Participate in proposal writing related to CAFE - ensure a good relationship with current and potential donors

KPIs:

  1. Retention of existing partners and new partnerships development.
  2. Number of concept notes/proposals developed and number of donors approached.
  3. Number of new funds raised for CAFE (digital) projects.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

  • Appropriate graduate qualifications (or equivalent technical experience) 
  • A creative, yet practical mindset, curious, strong interest in using and adopting new technology (mobile apps, eLearning)
  • Good command of design softwares (for example: Adobe suite, Canva, video editing software, others)
  • Sound understanding of key issues and international good practice relating to skill development in the areas of digital and financial literacy, and digital financial inclusion.
  • Successful experience in program management of financial education and/or behavioural interventions.
  • A passion for Good Return mission
  • Good English fluency, knowledge of another Asia-Pacific language would be an advantage.
  • Strong team player, ability to coordinate and support program staff.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and cross-cultural communication skills
