Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia (this is expected to be in-person but subject to change given COVID-19 restrictions).
Causal Design is an economic consulting firm conducting rigorous program evaluations and analysis for international development organizations. Our evaluations are designed to provide timely and practical information to decision makers working to end poverty and inequality.
We are seeking candidates for the upcoming summer to support impact
evaluations and other research projects in our Cambodia office. In the
past, fellows have worked closely with Causal Design project teams to
create survey tools, use STATA to conduct econometric analysis, and
shadow project staff in
quantitative and qualitative data collection. The Fellow may be expected
to conduct the following illustrative tasks below with support from a
mid- or senior-level economist.
2. Responsibilities
The Summer Fellow will be expected to engage in the following tasks:
- Econometric Analysis
- Creating M&E form templates
- Power Calculations
- Lead Literature Reviews
- Data Cleaning and Management
- Data Visualization
- Survey Management
- Survey Design and Coding into ODK
- Co-Author on Reports or Evaluations
3. Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a graduate degree in economics, statistics, or other relevant field.
- Competence in advanced statistical methods and analysis using Stata.
- Proven ability to turn data and research into digestible, interesting reports.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, strongly desired.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Interest in international development programming and measuring its impact
