Passerelles Numériques (PN) is a non-profit organization dedicated to enabling highly disadvantaged youths, through their abilities and their commitment, to access education and technical and vocational training in the sector of Information Technology. We work to build strong employability which will allow them and their families to escape poverty in a sustainable way, and contribute to the social and economic development of their countries.

Established in Cambodia, the Philippines and Vietnam, Passerelles Numériques currently trains 417 students. PN employs around 100 people based in these three countries including a small team in France.

Passerelles Numériques relies on the financial sponsorship and practical assistance of several corporate partners such as Accenture, Econocom, Thales, Microsoft and Société Générale and also receives support from individual donors.

In Cambodia, Passerelles Numériques started its mission in 2005, establishing a training centre in Phnom-Penh. In 2007, the first class graduated with 20 students, and most of them found a job just after graduation. Today, PN Cambodia (PNC) trains 148 students and graduated 1,485 young disadvantaged since 2005.

    PN Cambodia offers 2 training programs:
    – Systems and Network Administration (SNA)
    – WEb Programming (WEP)
The WEP trainer will be assigned to WEP team. Under the direct supervision of WEP Training Coordinator, the WEP Trainer will:
  • Maintain training materials up to date regarding new technologies and versions.
  • Deliver a training of high quality using various pedagogic techniques.
  • Be a model for students and prepare them to their professional life.
The WEP team is responsible of the followings topics:

  • Programming (PYTHON, JAVA, PHP)
  • Website development (HTML/CSS, JAVASCRIPT, WORDPRESS)
  • Mobile development (FLUTTER)
  • Project management
  • Framework usage and integration (JQuery, LARAVEL)
  • Design (PHOTOSHOP, RESPONSIVE DESIGN)

Duties and responsibilities

Training delivery
  • Prepare and deliver the web development courses with detailed lesson plans, interactive activities, a learning by doing approach
  • Create teaching materials and visual aids
  • Identify and prepare all materials required for your courses; homework, quizzes, tests, and projects
  • Participate in designing and updating the IT training curriculum
  • Manage student assessment and grading
  • Ensure strong students follow up, identify and support students
  • Stay up-to-date and current with technology in your field
  • Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching issues
Others
  • Participate in the planning and creation of student projects (virtual company, blogs, websites, internal tools etc.)
  • Participate in tutorship, extra-curricular, and placement activities.
  • Participate actively in student follow up meetings
  • Participate actively in regular team meetings


Skills and experience

  • Bachelor degree in Computer science or related fields
  • 1 year teaching or development experience
  • Good level of English; reading, writing, speaking
  • Motivated to work with underprivileged youth
  • Capacity to understand and explain technical concepts
  • Flexible, critical thinking, creative and autonomous, open to constructive criticism, with team spirit
  • Organized, rigorous, good communication, eager to learn and develop himself/herself
  • Very strong ethical behavior and leadership on his/her area of ownership
  • Able to self-train quickly to new technologies
  • Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning by using variety of teaching techniques and strategies
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationship with other teachers and staff
  • Be creative to make learning as fun as possible
  • Teach using a student-centered approach
  • Friendly, patient, sensitive, and honest
Specific skills – Good knowledge of:
  • ALGORITHMS
  • Web development (HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, PHP)
  • Database (MySQL or MongoDB)
  • One of the following language at least: PHP, JAVA, PYTHON, JAVASCRIPT
Would be a plus:
  • Mobile development (Flutter or native mobile language)
  • PHP frameworks (LARAVEL or a similar MVC framework)
  • Designing in Photoshop or Illustrator
