Job Summary:The Project Coordinator is
responsible in managing the assigned program and projects which will
involve, among others, the preparation of work plans, budget plan,
finalization of M&E framework, and conceptualization of projects
ideas under the unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage implementation of projects and activities assigned to the unit.
- Prepare periodic work plans integrating the activities of the different projects assigned to the unit;
- Assist and guide the project officers and staff under the unit in implementing the activities;
- Closely monitor and ensure implementation of the activities according to the work plans; and
- Prepare necessary adjustment to the work plans based on the progress of the implementation and budget.
- Coordinate and work closely with other department and units in
implementing activities of projects cross cutting different units.
- Coordinate properly with other departments and units of CCIM in implementing the activities that are part of the projects implemented also by other units to ensure connectivity and synergy with other projects;
- Facilitate quick, fair and accurate resolution of any issues involving coordination and coursed them through proper channels; and
- Provide the head of department with feedback on project coordination and collaboration.
- Ensure proper monitoring and reporting of the project
- Collaborate with the M&E Officer in preparing the M&E plans and forms of the unit in accordance to the M&E framework of the projects;
- Ensure that M&E forms for the activities of the unit are completed on time to ensure KoBo database is updated; and
- Prepare project reports for submission to project donors according to the required schedule for reporting.
- Communication and Representation
- Maintain good relationships and smooth and effective communication with respective program officers of the project donors.
- Represent CCIM and promote its respective project at meetings and other events when required.
- Other duties
- Travel to the project target areas and other places when needed; and
- Other tasks will be required by the direct supervisor in the scope of the project implementation or the need of organizations.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Cambodian national;
- Relevant education in human rights, social sciences, or project management or any other related field; a Master Degree in these areas is preferable;
- At least, 2 years of successful experience in program and project management in the human rights, social work, or development work;
- Experience in developing training materials and delivering training to different groups;
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills and ability to manage sensitive issues with various stakeholders while motivating others;
- Excellent spoken and written Khmer and English skills;
- Sound understanding of Cambodian context in terms of media independency as well as rights to freedom of expression and access to information;
- Sound understanding of gender and willingness to promote gender equality and women empowerment both within CCIM and through its projects;
- A passionate and energetic team member with a genuine interest in working to develop independent and professional media, promote human rights and democratic governance; and
- Good computer literacy and working knowledge on Microsoft Office, internet-based communications, other related digital applications.
