Animal Rescue Cambodia (ARC) is a non-profit organization that works
tirelessly to end suffering for dogs and cats on the streets of
Cambodia.
We are committed to sustainable and long-lasting change in Cambodia,
and work closely with local communities. Our approach includes
neutering, outreach and education to improve the quality of veterinary
care. Our ultimate goal is to shape human behavior towards animals,
instilling a culture of compassion and creating a safer and happier
environment for both animals and humans!
Position Description
The Communications Manager will develop and implement ARC’s
communications strategy, which engages our diverse supporters in an
educational and inspiring way.
This newly created role will work under direct supervision of the
Head of Fundraising and Communications, and in close collaboration with
the Content Creator, to build the communications strategy from the
ground up. This includes developing new collateral and marketing
materials to support the efforts of the whole team, as well as managing
social media platforms and other digital content.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement ARC’s communications strategy that informs and engages our supporters
- Manage ARC’s website and social media presence, including developing a strategy and creating content
- Develop printed and online materials
- Manage donor communication, cultivate business relationships and pro-actively seek new partnerships
- Engage existing and new communities including social groups and schools.
- Maintain a positive public image of ARC
- Act as a representative of ARC at networking and social events
Requirements
This position is open to either a Khmer national or expatriate, who meets the following requirements:
- Master degree in communications, marketing, or another relevant field, is preferred; Bachelor degree in these fields is accepted
- At least three to five years’ relevant work experience
- Native-English speaker level is a must (equivalent of an IELTS of at least 8.5)
- Khmer and/or German fluency is an advantage, but not mandatory
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to engage and inspire others
- Ability to write confidently on a range of tasks from formal report writing to storytelling blog posts
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to comprehend complex issues
- Independent, well-organized and strong initiative
- Knowledge of Salesforce and WordPress is an advantage
Position Details
- Based in Phnom Penh
- Full time; 40 hours/week (5 days per week)
- Salary based on experience – with potential of immediate raise based on job performance
- Paid sick and holiday leave
