CUFA is an Australian not-for-profit organisation focusing on strengthening communities and developing people through access to the affordable financial services through credit unions.
CUFA is seeking an eager and highly motivated Project officer (2 Positions) to join its dynamic, fast-moving, and hardworking project team, to be based in Phnom Penh with at least 3 weeks travel to Cufa’s project sites: Phnom Penh’s Suburbs, Battambang and Pursat. This position is open to Cambodian citizens only.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY
Assist the community members and members of the credit unions where CUFA has been working to help build micro-enterprises or access employment opportunities through skills development trainings and technical guidance to improve income as well as linking them to become savings members of the existing credit unions.
The detailed key performance includes:
- Conduct skill training to community people who are interested in starting or expanding a microenterprise and small group joint businesses.
- Guide and work with community members to start individual and group micro enterprise.
- Conduct technical coaching to the community members to ensure their chosen microenterprises are operating well
- Assist community members looking for work as their case manager
- Liaise with employers and employees to ensure training needs are addressed
- Ensure that the work placement database is updated on a daily basis
- Provide monthly and quarterly reports in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide project data and outcomes to the program coordinator when required
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Excellent English (both written and verbal)
- Minimum two year experience working in communication building micro enterprises and agricultural local food processing
- Proven ability to successfully run a number of community group and individual business development, social enterprise formation and agricultural food processing
- Possess formal qualification of a minimum of Bachelor Degree of Business Administration and social-enterprise development
- Flexibility to work for extended periods of time out in the field, sometimes in remote areas
- Demonstrated experience in integrating strategies to mainstream people with disabilities, achieve gender equality, working with children and include marginalised people groups in all of CUFA’s projects
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with partner organisations and stakeholders, local authority, government department and all CUFA local and international staff
- Ability to work in community in a minimum of three weeks which require a travelling via CUFA Mountain bike to remote regions
- Ability to take initiative, be self-motivated in work practices, set priorities for self and meet required deadlines
- Knowledge of and involvement in, the credit union movement, Livelihood program, Micro - Business.
- Good computer in Microsoft Office, Internet and Email
