Cufa is a development agency focusing on financial inclusion, improving financial literacy and supporting economic livelihoods. Cufa has been developing community access to affordable financial services in the Asia-Pacific region for over 45 years, working cooperatively with communities to build capacity in emerging financial cooperatives to create sustainability, improve lives, and relieve poverty. Cufa is seeking Employment Placement Officers to manage an employment-placement project at the following sites: Pursat, Battambang and Sihanoukville Project Sites
The Employee Placement Officers will assist community members looking for work as their case manager. They will match prospective employees with suitable vacancies, ensure the jobseekers are well prepared for the interview, provide on the job support, and liaise with the employer to ensure training needs are addressed and training provided.
Key Accountabilities
- This position will suit candidates who are committed, driven and passionate with a “can do” attitude. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:
- Build and maintain successful relationships with local employers
- Match prospective employees with suitable vacancies, prepare jobseekers for the interview, and provide on-the-job support
- Sound experience in training and capacity development to community people in rural areas
- Liaise with employers and employees to ensure training needs are addressed
- Ensure that the work placement database is updated on a daily basis
- Complete monthly, quarterly and monitoring reports in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide project data and outcomes to the program coordinator when required
Essential Criteria:
- Excellent English and Khmer (written and verbal).
- Five years’ professional experience in employment placement and skills training
- Experience working in social and economic development programs
- Proven ability to form strong and respectful relationships with local communities
- Ability to network and establish/strengthen relationships with employers and partner organisations
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and be able to adapt to unforeseen events or challenges
- Willingness to travel for extended time frames to remote areas of Cambodia
