Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC) is a non-profit, pediatric
healthcare organization in Siem Reap, Cambodia. AHC is looking for a
highly motivated individual who can fill the position of a
Communications Manager to strengthen our current team. This role will be
primarily responsible for driving AHC’s external communications;
ensuring marketing materials are on brand/message, and supporting
fundraising teams and internal communications within the organization.
Your goal will be to create momentum for and awareness of AHC through
communication activities. The successful applicant will be a person who
is highly motivated to learn and further develop their skills working
for a NGO.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee, manage and maintain AHC’s communication platforms
- Offer best practices and guidance on international and in-country communication activities
- Write and edit content for website, social media, print material and messaging calendar
- Maintain multiple social media platforms, website, print and digital media
- Ensure the creation and deployment of all print and online communications like the annual report, e-newsletters, and online campaigns are carried out in a timely and efficient manner
- Work closely with the international and in-country fundraising teams to develop content, marketing material, event collateral and graphics in support of fundraising activities
- Conceptualise external-facing marketing materials for an international audience
- Manage locally based contractors for the production of videos and other digital or print content
- Manage and mentor a small team of in-house national communications staff
- Ensure brand guidelines, photo policies and consent form policies are adhered to and updated
- Support internal communications led by AHC’s Human Resource Director
- Support local and international media visits, requests, press releases, etc
- Collaborate with the CEO and Development Director on organisational messaging and communication activities
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the communications function including budgeting, procurement, planning and staff development.
- Test the effectiveness of communications activities, and track and measure the level of engagement with the ultimate goal of increasing the supporter base of AHC
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of general communications experience.
- Have a Bachelor degree or higher qualification in business, marketing, communications, development, or other related fields.
- Skilled in self-management, balancing competing priorities, and working against multiple deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain working files and revisions of documents.
- Ability to handle and use constructive feedback in order to make needed changes.
- Superior English writing skills.
- Solid proficiency in Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Hootsuite as well as comfortable learning new platforms as required.
- Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a small, high performance team.
- Prior experience working with or in an international non-profit o rganisation.
- Team player with the proven ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and comfortable in a diverse working environment
- Strong project management skills – planning, execution, issue resolution
- Analytical and strategic thinker, while remaining creative
- Positive, can-do attitude
